It will come next week mate, sure of itzab1234 said:
I’m expecting one of those surf letters then compliance checks as it’s going through security checks still and been over ten day. So the chances of a refund happening on its own now is about 0%TheBanker said:Presumably if you don't get in touch with them, it will sort its self out anyway eventually? They owe me £500 but I don't mind waiting for the money.0 -
No change this morning. Not looking good at all.0

Do they issue in batches? Or is it each indivcase going through security checks gets checked 1 by 1 then issued? Feel like repeating myself but stressful time could do with the money0

Mines been not yet used for 3 wks...what ever that means0

I have been doing self assessment for about 9 years now and one year it went to security. This was April 2020 so with lockdown and being out of work I was relying on the refund. I was getting passed from pillar to post being told there was no note on my account to say that it had gone to security and to wait X amount of days and to not contact back within X amount of days. I was baffled as to why it had gone to security as it was only around 1800 with hardly any expenses. So after about 5 weeks of being inpatient I looked through my return and seen that I hadn’t ticked the right box for class 4 NI; I amended the return and ticked the right box and within 48 hours the status of my payment had gone from pending to issued. So anyone who may think theirs has gone to security just double check your return because it may be something simple like an error what I had done.0

Indeed- that would have initiated a ‘trigger’ for HMRC to further scrutinise. Not entirely certain that the amendment would have changed the status within 48 hours though - more likely to be coincidental.RachelF92 said:I have been doing self assessment for about 9 years now and one year it went to security. Any luck this morning? Mine has changed from pending to issuedMrh1019 said:
I’m sorry I fully appreciate this. I just panicked when it said security checks as my wife lost her job recently and we have four kids and have been relying on this payment coming to get the car fixed. Just been a rough few months and I’m quite an anxious person.[Deleted User] said:
Perhaps you need to be a little more patient? You spoke with them yesterday and contacted online today?Mrh1019 said:So I was told yesterday that my repayment had gone for security checks. However I spoke with the online people today and they said they can see no evidence of it going for checks as there would be a note on the account and there are none?Has anyone worked for HMRC and know anything about this? He also said as I’m still in the ten day window it wouldn’t have gone to checks yet anyway. I’m so confused!HMRC is very stretched at the best of times - repeated contacts only adds to delays.I’m just so worried about whether we will be able to get the car fixed and on another forum someone said they had been given wrong info so I thought I would check.I guess I will know more next week. Thanks for replying.0
