HMRC Return 2023

Did my return on the 14th April, changed from pending to issued thus morning with 23rd April date, should be in by Monday night, happy days 😀

Perhaps you need to be a little more patient? You spoke with them yesterday and contacted online today? 

HMRC is very stretched at the best of times - repeated contacts only adds to delays.

I’m sorry I fully appreciate this. I just panicked when it said security checks as my wife lost her job recently and we have four kids and have been relying on this payment coming to get the car fixed. Just been a rough few months and I’m quite an anxious person. 

I’m just so worried about whether we will be able to get the car fixed and on another forum someone said they had been given wrong info so I thought I would check. 

I guess I will know more next week. Thanks for replying.

No luck so I’m assuming we aren’t getting it as I requested it on the 11th. Seems like so many people are going for checks this year!! Less they don’t pay out in date order I don’t know.

Put mine in on 6th April and it still showing as not used yet...whats that all about?

you’ll have to get in contact with them, it means there’s a blocker on your account. I had the same, called them up answered a few questions and they switched it to pending.

What questions do they ask and whats best phone number please

0300 200 3310 or the live web chat if you type ‘speak to an advisor’. They asked me when I last contacted them and what it was about, how much I got last year. I got in touch with them last year about my utr and ni being compromised in a cyber hack on an agency I’d worked for so they put an extra layer of security on my account.

Presumably if you don't get in touch with them, it will sort its self out anyway eventually? They owe me £500 but I don't mind waiting for the money.

I’m expecting one of those surf letters then compliance checks as it’s going through security checks still and been over ten day. So the chances of a refund happening on its own now is about 0%
