HMRC Return 2023

I am set up for paperless correspondence. Today I received two identical letters from HMRC containing a copy of my tax calculation (which is exactly the same as I can see online). The letters are dated 8 April which is the date I submitted my return. Is this normal?
My refund is still pending. I am expecting security checks as it's the first time I've been entitled to a refund. Last time I got a bill

I’ve amended mine as there was a mistake and miscalculation. Original was sat at pending going through checks. Never paid out. Now the amendment difference to the overpayment after re calculating says I owe them that figure. As if it’s already been paid but it hasn’t. Hoping once it’s issued it sorts it self

After yesterdays chat with hmrc. Mine as now gone to payment pending from not yet used.0

We submitted tax return on 06/04 then was showing not yet used. Spoke to HMRC who said it was because we are in an IVA. Spoke to IP they confirmed that we could have tax return, they contacted HMRC to confirm. Still showing not yet used? Has anyone been in an iva and gone through this process? How did it pan out?How long was the process?
Once we have the return my dh is going on a course which will lead to a PAYE role. Cannot wait tbh for the stability.0 -

I’m sorry I fully appreciate this. I just panicked when it said security checks as my wife lost her job recently and we have four kids and have been relying on this payment coming to get the car fixed. Just been a rough few months and I’m quite an anxious person.[Deleted User] said:
Perhaps you need to be a little more patient? You spoke with them yesterday and contacted online today?Mrh1019 said:So I was told yesterday that my repayment had gone for security checks. However I spoke with the online people today and they said they can see no evidence of it going for checks as there would be a note on the account and there are none?Has anyone worked for HMRC and know anything about this? He also said as I’m still in the ten day window it wouldn’t have gone to checks yet anyway. I’m so confused!HMRC is very stretched at the best of times - repeated contacts only adds to delays.I’m just so worried about whether we will be able to get the car fixed and on another forum someone said they had been given wrong info so I thought I would check.I guess I will know more next week. Thanks for replying.0
