I just noticed that the 1st of Feb is a Friday...
I am not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing....

(not that I am counting the days to my next drink or anything you understand.)

Ok guys, I think JAFA is a great name!

I'll Take JAFA 01... please follow on for your number! Back at work so can't really go through the post giving everyone a number (althought I'd like too!!).

Hope everyone's getting on ok - I've now roped my boyfriend in to the challenge so should make it much easier for me!

I'm with ISOM: a dry Jan is fine, but only once i've finished the gin, the Baileys and the beer. (With help from OH).

Can't believe the number of people deciding to tip their remaining booze down the sink: you're breaking my heart, can't you just bring it round to my place? It's agin nature! Not very MSE-spirit either - hey, put it on freecycle, i think you'll get plenty of offers! Or you could donate it to family or friends. I don't know many people who would turn away alcohol in need of a good home.

Really keen on this challenge - I've been worrying about how I'll make it through January without having a drink (god, that sounds bad - I just mean in terms of going out and being able to say no...god, it sounds even worse :eek:) but I think with the support from the forum, I'll get through the month at least.

Major challenge will be a good friend's 30th on Saturday...I'll keep you posted

well I failed on day one.
Though I was doing so well! I agreed to do the driving so had nothing alcoholic when we were out, as soon as we arrived home OH poured me a gin as a reward, and I couldn't throw it away

Perhaps I should have told him about the challenge, but I was afraid he'd tease me remorselessly (sp?) as I know I drink a lot.

Ah not to worry OliveOyl - you can restart today! No reason your month has to start from the first of the month, I know others are waiting until after the first weekend.

Good luck with the 30th, maximus_leeds! My brother's birthday tomorrow so that will be my first test, but I'm so determined. I seriously overdid it at Christmas!
