Clearing my debt after 25 years

thank you so much @IndiJonesi it was hard to pay such a big chunk off in one go I am always inclined to keep the money in the bank but when we move we want to keep our outgoings as low as possible till we get used to the big mortgage payment.

been to visit DD1 and we have been out for lunch, feel guilty now though the money that we have spent would have been more than a weeks shopping so won’t be doing it again, it’s years since we had a carvery but honestly was not worth the spend 

£15 raised as car boot sale (by my mam she sells my things with hers) which has gone in the house tin

have a monthly review at work tomorrow so kind of nervous for that as it’s my first one since taking over as manager, the housing market in my area has declined rapidly and significantly in the past 6 weeks so it’s going to be hard work moving forward and keeping the income coming in not the best time to take over to be honest as it reflects on my performance when really it’s more the interest and mortgage rates and sky high house prices 

received our mortgage offer on Friday so all ok with the valuation, just enquiries to deal with now

currently watching four weddings and a funeral never seen it before but I understand it to be a classic

Normal payment gone to the remaining credit card of £20.25 that will now be under £2000, this one will take a while to chip away at

Funny memory about DH putting on 4 Weddings & A Funeral when my mum came to stay... she NEVER swore, so the opening sequence was excruciating.

Delurking to say my mum hated the F word but wanted to see the film. My sister explained about the start & said we would only take her if she didn’t moan. 

There was a very loud tut at the first one, by the last one she was crying with laughter 😂

I only got half way through then fell asleep so will watch the rest tonight!

the review went ok a few tips on things we can be doing but other than that overall doing ok! So that will do for me!

Congratulations on completion!!
Wow look at that debt figure, you will be posting on the debt free roll of honour before you know it. It is hard when all your bills suddenly shoot up so having no debt payments to worry about will be a massive help.

Hopefully completion will come on your new house shortly, jest enjoy the lack of bills for the time being!!

Everything is pretty quiet for me at the moment, very weird being at my parents house feel like I should be doing stuff but not sure what to do! 

Been clothes shopping with DD and mam got a few things but hardly anything in the shops, our new look is closing down so we got a few sale bits £3 each sad to see another huge shop gone though 

tomorrow DD has a trial shift at the chemist where she had the interview for so I’m keeping everything crossed for her, she’s a hard worker and wants to do well so I hope they see that in her and give her a chance 

had a bit of a pricey week so waiting for DH to get paid tomorrow and can then add to savings again for the house 🏡

Ooooh just opened my sealed tin (can you tell I am bored 🥱) this tin has been on the go since Mother’s Day, 
£525 inside!! In all fairness we sold our petrol own mower as new house has no lawn for £150 and that was in there plus the takings from quite a car boots my mam does and sells our stuff for us with hers, I’ll put £500 in the house fund account and £25 back into the next sealed tin which I hope to try and save another £300 by Xmas but also for the house fund

Back to PAD and todays was £17.23 to holiday savings which is what I’m concentrating on at the moment, we owe £1230 on the holiday and I’ll be paying that from the holiday pot today still have about £500 to save for spends yet
