Aw that’s such a shame for her @foxandflowers I do think covid was hardest for the young, all those things they can’t do again, it was the time my middle daughter was applying to uni and had to do virtual tours instead of going to look around and all her interviews for the course where online, my eldest (son) joined the army in the February and a few weeks into basic training he was sent home to complete his training online ??? Now that was very weird! He passed out in his normal army uniform once lockdown eased slightly but parents where not allowed to go and 3 years later I still haven’t seen him in his dress 2s (posh uniform they wear) first time he got to wear them was the last remembrance parade in November 2022, those times you should spend and celebrate with your children you can never get those back same as prom, and memories is all you have in the end !!

no news on anything today really, waiting for the valuation to come through on house purchase, might be tomorrow.

paid £100 to holiday account today I must get organised especially with spending money for that, watching Martin Lewis programme this week and he mentioned the Chase debit card is good for spending abroad now I normally just take euros but we are not all inclusive and we are 4 adults 👩 well youngest DD is almost 17 when we go, and I think I need about £2500-£3000 spends for meals drinks etc, I don’t much fancy taking that in cash, has anyone else taken the chase card and do most places accept it we are going to Majorca (magaluf)

Yes, my daughters were in Y10/11 and Y12/13 during covid. They missed their GCSE and A-levels being sat, visiting university open days, work experience, prom... so much. It was a horrid time and they should have been living their best lives through that time.
I think a chase card is simply a debit card so probably mastercard or visa and therefore should be widely taken.

  • We use a Halifax clarity card as they are fee free, I've never used a Chase so don't really know much about them. Another option is the preloaded cards, just don't overload them as you end up losing money when you what to get your £'s back.

De-lurking to say I haven't used the Chase Card but have used both the Starling and revolute cards in various countries across the work so I'm guessing the Chase card will be fine too as there both debit cards, neither of which charge you to use abroad.

thank you @outoftheviciouscircle and @kat328 I think I will give the chase card a try and hope for the best!

Daughter is off at prom bless her she was so excited I hope she’s having the best time.

I have work both Friday and Saturday so Sunday I will be spending the day moving and organising as much as possible so there isn’t as much to do next week, feeling a bit anxious 😬 about the whole thing will be glad to get moved but then feel I a bit unsettled to not be in our own home, hope the time goes by quickly

@outoftheviciouscircle yes completion Friday 30th no exchange yet but she’s away on holiday again until Tuesday so it’s likely to be simultaneous now, this is my last day off before Wednesday when we are moving everything and then Thursday we have time to clean and tidy the garden before handing in keys Friday when I’m back in work, I have all these big intentions today, DH left me the big car and so far I’ve only managed one load 🤣 it’s so blooming hot! Having this cuppa then going to try and get another load down before I go help the people we are buying off to sort some stuff for a car booty they are doing next week xx

Thank you so much @outoftheviciouscircle and I hope you have an amazing holiday!!!

I feel like I’m in limbo, I’ve stopped making PAD for now and I’m just basically waiting for exchange on mine, waiting for the valuation on the new one nothing happening and just don’t want to do anything with money until I know the sale has gone through so hopefully next week I can get myself back on track!

On a more positive note DD (16) is desperate to get a job and has applied for about 20! Bless her, she has an interview on Thursday for a pharmacy Saturday assistant job so please send lots of positive vibes for her as it would mean the world to her to earn her own money 💰
