Are we allowed to open a second CL account (in branch / not possible online afaik) and choose a different (or the same) benefit?

I'm considering doing this at a nearby branch, as only recently opened one through the £200 Silver Account switch offer, downgrading to CL after receiving the £200, and choosing the 6 cinema tickets benefit (no 12m Disney+ on offer then, but will choose it with a second CL account if possible).
You can have one sole and one joint Club Lloyds. Annoyingly LBG insist you make an appointment in branch to open joint accounts.

My fiancee and I each have one sole account, and a joint between us. We get 2 magazines each month and Disney+.

Think it’s a fairly new thing, but myself and my partner managed to open a club Lloyds joint account through the app, both as existing club Lloyds customers.

About time too! Thanks for the update, must be very recent as I think this was January when I made the appointment.

Activated yesterday. Sign up link emailed just now (almost exactly 24 hrs later).

    - I had the account since 13th Feb 2023
    - I upgraded it to a Club Lloyds account on 27 April by phone (online didn't work), where the person chose "Coffee Club & Gourmet Society" because Disney+ was still not an option.
    - I changed it to Opt Out, just in case (I suspect this is the problem)
    - On 1 May, I chose Disney+
    - The Club Llodys website shows this

    - I still have not got the email
    - The online chat did just forward me to 0345 303 0303
    - On the phone, they have told me I will not get the email until 1st June... because of the "30-day selection period".

The phone advisor was incorrect (unsurprisingly). As you upgraded your account on 27 April, today (26 May) marks the 30th and last day of your selection period. Based on this language, it appears the start date of your lifestyle benefit is a day earlier than expected.

Nevertheless, wait until tomorrow at least, which will be 24 hours after the start date. Like WillPS, I didn't receive the activation email, subject "Your Disney+ subscription is here", until the day after my start date. It may take up to two working days for the link to be issued though.

  • Yeah it does say to allow up to 2 working days after the start date to receive the email. My start date is also the 26th and was wondering where the email was too

I currently have Rakuten selected as my lifestyle benefit which I'm happy with. The anniversary comes up in a couple of days. What happens if I don't update my selection, what will I get instead?

Nothing, would be my guess. You'll need to opt in again.

Mine updated in October, so could have changed, but I didn't update and I got another set of cinema tickets sent to me.

So I'd expect yours to rollover.

Didn't the email saying your renewal was due tell you what would happen if you didn't make a new choice?
  • Does anyone know if it’s possible to add this subscription to an existing one?

I’m thinking of switching to CL, but have just renewed our Disney+ sub.
