When did it change? I selected it about a week ago, and it's due to start in a few days.

I didn't notice that when I selected it, but I rarely watch TV anyway, and dislike ads if I do decide to watch something.

I probably should have stuck with cinema tickets....

Literally today I think, as it's today when all the Disney+ subscription changes became active. Quite convenient they sent me that email as I'm not sure I'd have spotted it otherwise, pretty sneaky of them! I know for a fact when I selected a week or so ago it was still saying the standard subscription tier valued at £7.99. Which admittedly at the time under Disney+'s old model, was the only tier. However there is still a standard tier at that price, so Lloyds clearly just decided to devalue the option I guess.
  • Ooh, I set mine up over the weekend and think I’m on the £7.99 version - I haven’t had any ads, but can’t see where to check

I think if you already redeemed you're okay. It's renewals when it'll downgrade.

There's a big question mark for those of us who selected the benefit when it said it was the £7.99 version but hadn't received the link yet. I'll be slightly irritated to find out what they've downgraded it after I already chose it based on that info, but I'm expecting that to be the case if I'm honest.
  • Glad I signed up a couple of months ago. Probably will close my account next year if im going to be lumped with the Ad version

Fortunately I signed up a few months ago. No ads.
I will probably renew when the time comes because ads, although a bit annoying, don't bother me too much.
I don't pay the  TV licence tax therefore don't watch broadacast TV or iPlayer.
As an example ITV X (also broadcast ITV etc.) and other catch up offerings show ads.. As does Youtube.
I have become very immune to them.
  • That's frustrating. I don't actually mind the ads, but you can't download on ad accounts (same as netflix) and we do rely on the downloads when travelling. It's a pain to have to upgrade and then downgrade just to download things for flights etc.
The other annoying thing which netflix do with their ad plan (and I wonder if disney will do the same) is make it so that you can't watch on older devices on the ad plans. Since we downgraded to netflix with ads, my old ipad and husbands old ipad mini (7 years old) will open the app but won't allow you to watch anything. When I upgraded to standard to download stuff for flights, it works fine on those old devices again, so it's not a question that the iOS is too old. Sneaky as it's never mentioned when they outline the difference between plans!
  • Hi

I've just had an email from Club Lloyds notifying me that I will be receiving the Premium service even though the benefit has changed to their standard subscription plus ads. I was letting it default to  Disney Plus -  as I previously had Rakuten. Just thought this might be of interest.

    Cheers

    That sounds positive.

I've not heard about my situation yet, where I'm a new member who selected when it was still the old premium. I'm hoping they'll grant premium in my situation too since that's what I selected really.

I've received a similar email, advising that if I choose to renew on to Disney+ then I'll get Premium this time around. I then remembered the benefit for my sole account (currently a magazine subscription) is up for renewal.

I suppose I could take it and get premium for another 6 months at a cost of 4/5 months worth of 2 accounts overlapping (or is there some way I can 'reset' the Club Lloyds benefit on that account?)

That's a definite no, I asked about that earlier this year.
