Club Lloyds: Disney+ New Lifestyle benefit

I can't be certain but I don't recall having to enter card details when setting up the Disney+ account with the CL activation link. Just had a look at my account and there are no card details showing.WillPS said:
I think Disney+ require a card to be on file in order to open an account (even a free trial). It won't be charged while you have it as a Club Lloyds benefit, unless you do an upgrade of some sort in the future.lcc86 said:Just want to rekindle this thread to ask a question, have had Club Lloyd's for years and the benefits IMO have always been pretty terrible, but i've just got my activation email for the disney+ benefit. Only problem is when I click the link and try to sign up, it asks for payment details and I can't proceed any further. Anyone have any ideas?
Are you trying to link to an existing Disney+ account? Try with a brand new account/email address.

I have Disney+ already when I get my activation email 15th October how can I use my existing account?0

No I've never had Disney+ before and I just followed the link in the activation email, but didn't matter what device or browser I used it kept asking me for payment details. Did an online chat with Disney last night and they couldn't resolve it, they even asked me to enter payment details to see if they could activate it from their end afterwards, but that didn't work (they refunded me immediately so can't fault them). They said they think it's an issue at Lloyd's end so I have to give them a call tomorrow, maybe I just got a dodgy activation link or something.flaneurs_lobster said:

I definitely didn't need to enter card details when I set this up in August.
If you've used the same email address throughout, then that should be it, easy peasy.
Hopefully Lloyd's sort it quickly.0 -
Thanks so sign in or sign up great help thanks 🤩0

Spoke to Lloyd's yesterday and got it sorted. Was an issue with setting on the browser preventing redirection, she talked me through it which makes me suspect it might be a common problem but all sorted now!1

Got an email today advising me of all the great things I can do with my new account, and I noticed in the footer it mentioned this subscription is now only the £4.99 ads tier.
Probably need to contact them later to see what I'm going to get because I did already select my benefit (when it said it was still the £7.99 tier) but they don't send the code/link or whatever for 30 days.I joined because of the swap incentive, but was going to keep it for disney+ and the regular saver, but now I'm more undecided, lol. I don't have any real interest in the ads tier, I find intrusive adverts like you get on tv or other video services kind of obnoxious, doubly so when you're already 'paying' for the service anyway. It's part of the reason I preferred streaming over live tv in the first place.I've still got disney+ from my own purchased subscription for a bit anyway, but I'll probably just cancel it and buy months at a time unless I see a significant sale on a 4k sub.0 -
Ah that's a real bummer. I'm not sure if I'll carry on with it when the time comes to renew.Edit - looks from the above link like it is just ad funded from renewal. No ability to upgrade yourself to pay the difference. Ho hum, another magazine subscription from May I guess.

When did it change? I selected it about a week ago, and it's due to start in a few days.
I didn't notice that when I selected it, but I rarely watch TV anyway, and dislike ads if I do decide to watch something.
I probably should have stuck with cinema tickets....0
