You lose the Disney if you close the account.

I was wondering how this might be implemented - having done a quick bit of research I see that basically Lloyds* have set themselves up with Disney+ as a 'third party invoicing partner', in the same way that like Apple, O2, Sky etc fulfil that role.
    [...]
This means that if you close the Club Lloyds account, they can then simply automatically revoke your Disney+ membership.
Interesting stuff. I didn't know how they do it but I know that they do because a friend learned the hard way. He was really peeved and even less happy when I pointed out that keeping the account and paying the monthly fiver is cheaper than the normal Disney+ fee (he's too lazy to cycle 2K through the account to save the fiver). So now he's trying to open another Lloyds account and he blames me for pointing out the offer in the first place!

Re cycling 2K through the account to save the Club Lloyds account fee (which is £3/pm unless I've got it very wrong), what do you suggest is the easiest / most hassle-free way to go about doing this? Bit new to this game! Thanks.

Standing orders and/or manual transfers, depending on what works for you. Internal transfers (Lloyds > Lloyds) between your own accounts will also fulfil the requirement.

Happy to confirm they are honouring Premium for any new customers who selected their benefit last month, but only received the reward after they changed to the ads tier.

That gives me another year to figure out the next best way to get it for cheap. :D

Yes, I selected it as the benefit for my sole account which was due for renewal and got a Premium activation code on Nov 18th. I then downgraded our joint account (which had Disney+ but due to renew in May).

I don't seem to be able to upgrade that joint account to a Club Lloyds using the app now, I am being directed to branch. Will nip in on Saturday, hopefully they don't need me to go through the whole 'appointment, watch a video etc etc' process again...!

I do all my payments manually. Early morning on the 1st I move £2000 in from another bank, make a payment from club Lloyds for the two regular savers, leave enough to pay a DD I have on the account and transfer the rest back out again.

I've got a bunch of standing orders that trigger at that start of each month. £2000 goes into Lloyds. £400 of that goes into their regular saver then the remaining £1600 travels through two other current accounts at different banks (to avoid fees and/or earn rewards) then it ends up back where it started at Kroo.

I much prefer standing orders because of the risk that manual transfers sometimes get held up by fraud checks.
I have a calendar reminder on the 6th of each month which prompts me to check all the accounts to make sure everything has gone smoothly.

And, yes, you are correct. It's £3 not £5 at Lloyds. My error is a sign that I have too many accounts...

I've received a similar email, advising that if I choose to renew on to Disney+ then I'll get Premium this time around. I then remembered the benefit for my sole account (currently a magazine subscription) is up for renewal.

I suppose I could take it and get premium for another 6 months at a cost of 4/5 months worth of 2 accounts overlapping (or is there some way I can 'reset' the Club Lloyds benefit on that account?)
I'm also changing, from Vue. I've never had subscription TV before. The option only seems to be Disney+  so is that all the content of Premium but with ads? If so, how does Premium fill the time that the ads are taking up on the other broadcast?!
I'm also considering giving it to a relative (not sure which one) at a different address, so would I need to provide that address to Disney from the outset? I have to decide this tonight as the option to change reward expires (presumably) at midnight.

Time isn't filled, there just aren't any ads. It's on demand, not broadcast.

I don't think you'd have to give any address, just the login and password.

Oh, I didn't realise that. I guess it's just like BBC iPlayer but without the daily schedules. I'm surprised they don't want to know your address because you could presumably lend your login details to someone else a hundred miles away to watch at times you are not using it. Surely that's not allowed because I believe Sky won't even allow you to divert your feed next door, although they stop short of banning you from inviting the neighbours round to view!

They use other things to check your location, ip address/network info and device info is what Netflix use I think? I dunno if it's actually started but Disney had said they're going ahead with a password sharing crackdown like Netflix.

To answer my question, they did and it was very tedious, but it's all done now. Downgraded to Club Lloyds 10 days ago, and upgraded back to Club Lloyds today in branch.

    Disney+ Premium until next November.
Country Living sub back from sometime 30 days from now.

Worth it for 30 mins of faff and one missed issue.
