TSB. I’ll update with photos shortly[Deleted User] said:Has anyone actually produced a themed card other than the standard current account card new design wise? So far it seems for the standard current account range there may only be one card design.
I have seen the credit card, spending account and private banking in this thread. But no themed cards for a standard account range.
Student Debit Card Left. Under 19s Debit Card Right.

Halifax have a different shade of blue for each different type of account:

Scrap that, 6 days after I upgraded my account I’ve had a notification saying a new card is on the way.ForumUser7 said:
Perhaps not - all banking groups are different, I manually upgraded my NatWest and RBS adapt and revolve to select, to set up DDs and then upgrade to rewards, but I haven't had a notification of new card for either, and my previous card is the one in the app. I think it is safe to say that one isn't auto replaced.[Deleted User] said:
I can't recall, I checked the replacement card screen and the card displays as Club Lloyds in the picture, but has the same number as my current card. So it would appear they do not send out new cards anymore.ForumUser7 said:
I wondered if it was something to do with online/offline cards maybe. This is just a wild shot in the dark though, I'm not really sure how to check what type of card is held apart from taking a flight or something and seeing if it works on the plane - but I'm not on a flight anytime soon, and my old card is cancelled now the new one arrived anyway.WillPS said:Deleted_User said:
And my point is it is Lloyds bank policy that a new card is sent out when the account is updated, so telling people that they should not order a card is rather a fallacy. Not to mention, as I say missing the big picture. But great for looking good.WillPS said:[Deleted User] said:
Did you not read the post which states Lloyds bank themselves stated to report a card lost even if it wasn't?WillPS said:[Deleted User] said:
I think you have mistaken this for facebook, virtual signalling won't work here.WillPS said:Might just poke my nose in here to say that unneccessarily reordering cards (which are, appearance aside, identical in terms of functionality in all instances) is disrespectful both to the bank and the environment.
Let's apply the logic in your post for the sake of argument, you are telling customers not to request cards they are entitled to under the policy of the bank. ie if customer upgrades from a classic Lloyds account to a club Lloyds account, the bank sends them a new card.
So I am afraid you need to direct your comment to Lloyds banking group and not roam the forums trying to get likes. One thing I like about MSE is that nobody hardly every talks politics or brings in stuff like this, I hope it stays that way.
Not to add to say ordering a plastic card is "disrespectful" to a banking group which funds god knows what i'd say is missing the big picture. The bank provides the opportunity to request a new card in the event their current one in lost, stolen or defective. There is no option to request one because you fancy a new design (leave alone one which you don't even know exists). Edit - turns out you can just request one. Doesn't mean you should tho.Similarly you can open a dozen accounts at once - again you shouldn't do this.
And that's why I replied to the thread and not your postForumUser7 said:
Just to add - I didn't order a new card, I upgraded my account to the new version and they automatically sent one out with a new card number. I am pretty sure I read in the upgrade process that I'd keep all the same things (card, sort code, account number etc.) so I was quite surprised.WillPS said:Might just poke my nose in here to say that unneccessarily reordering cards (which are, appearance aside, identical in terms of functionality in all instances) is disrespectful both to the bank and the environment.
I said @strictgold5208 may wish to contact Lloyds to check if they sent a new one out, as if they did, with a new card number, the existing card will likely expire before the original expiry date (in my experience with other banks one month after the new card was issued).
.
Not really sure where you are trying to go with this. If I want to order a new card I will. You skipped over my points.
My point is there is a cost to both the bank and the environment. Everyone is free to do as they wish.It isn't actually. I dunno why @ForumUser7's was (perhaps because their account was changed from a youth one) but all my experience with LBG is that no new card is issued when account type changes. But yeah, obviously I am not taking exception to instances where Lloyds decide themselves to issue a new one.
I also upgraded my Halifax Expresscash to Halifax Rewards, and that sent out a new card automatically too.
I've checked the screenshots I took during the upgrade, once it was all finished the screen said they would be sending a new debit card. It said a new PIN is being sent too. @strictgold5208 - did you get this on your final screen too?If you want me to definitely see your reply, please tag me @forumuser7 Thank you.

You will get old style debit card I bet1

I'll let you lot know - I imagine it'll be the exact same card, with different numbers. At least the lloyds and Halifax ones were different designs and had the type of account on the top!GTR_King said:You will get old style debit card I betIf you want me to definitely see your reply, please tag me @forumuser7 Thank you.

I'm a little confused.GTR_King said:Thanks! Most likely old club Lloyds design be lucky if you get new design debit card
To confirm, I got the old Club Lloyds card design (posted 17th April).
My most recent post in this thread was about NatWest and RBS - We were trying to determine if most banks reissue, or don't reissue cards after accounts are upgraded. I upgraded both to Select from the children's accounts, and I don't think I was told a new card would come during the upgrade process. But today, 6 days later, RBS has notified me a new card is on the way.
We are saying it is likely the NatWest and RBS cards will look identical to my current version - and that it seems pointless reissuing cards, that other than the numbers are identicalIf you want me to definitely see your reply, please tag me @forumuser7 Thank you.

Especially when upgrading from a kids' account to a full fat account, they'll reissue a card because more often than not, the adult account card is offline-enabled while the kids' will be online-only.
When upgrading between different product types, it'll depend on whether the bank has a different card design / features to distinguish between the fancier and less fancy accounts. NWG don't, LBG do.1 -
Natwest Group have different card designs for Premier accounts, but I think that's it nowadays; even the youth and foundation/basic account debit cards I think use the same design?[Deleted User] said:Especially when upgrading from a kids' account to a full fat account, they'll reissue a card because more often than not, the adult account card is offline-enabled while the kids' will be online-only.

If it was being changed from online-only to offline-enabled the card number would change, as there is a difference in BIN (I think?).1 -
Sorry but to confirm, did you yourself order a new card or they just sent it to you after upgrade without you doing anything?ForumUser7 said:
