  • How long do people think it is wise to wait until reporting a new card missing? I have been waiting for a club lloyds card for some time. Three weeks at least.
I would say three weeks is quite some time. I upgraded my account and then waited only a few days for the new card (less than a week).
I just noticed despite the app saying the card was "new" after upgrade to club Lloyds, the details are of my current card, so perhaps Club Lloyd cards have been scrapped?

They haven't been scrapped, I got a new club lloyds card with a new card number etc. after upgrading my under 19s account.

The new card just means a new card number IMO, not necessarily design.

That said, I have also had problems with the LBG card management app section.

I contacted Lloyds in chat, and they cancelled my old card for me once my new one arrived - this fixed their app for me.

I contact Halifax in chat once my new card had arrived, but they tried to cancel the old one and were unsuccessful and said either ring lost and stolen (even though it isn't), or visit a branch. Their app brings up error codes in lost and stolen, shows the card in the PIN section, doesn't show it in the details section, and shows both in the freeze section

I'm not sure about that, the whole point of the new card is to get the club lloyds design.

I mean in the app, when it says new card it means they have recently issued that card to you with a new number - it doesn't necessarily mean it is a new design.

I had a standard classic account, and then upgraded to club lloyds, at which point the app said the card was "new", but it has not changed. Hence why I thought perhaps they are no longer sending out club lloyds cards. It's been three weeks. I guess I will have to order a new card.

Maybe live chat them and ask if they sent a new card when you upgraded from the classic account - someone on MSE forums (don't remember the thread) mentioned they don't always send out new cards. Ask the date it was dispatched too - this will help inform a decision on whether to cancel or not.

Might just poke my nose in here to say that unneccessarily reordering cards (which are, appearance aside, identical in terms of functionality in all instances) is disrespectful both to the bank and the environment.
I think you have mistaken this for facebook, virtual signalling won't work here.

Let's apply the logic in your post for the sake of argument, you are telling customers not to request cards they are entitled to under the policy of the bank. ie if customer upgrades from a classic Lloyds account to a club Lloyds account, the bank sends them a new card.

So I am afraid you need to direct your comment to Lloyds banking group and not roam the forums trying to get likes. One thing I like about MSE is that nobody hardly every talks politics or brings in stuff like this, I hope it stays that way.

Not to add to say ordering a plastic card is "disrespectful" to a banking group which funds god knows what i'd say is missing the big picture.

Just to add - I didn't order a new card, I upgraded my account to the new version and they automatically sent one out with a new card number. I am pretty sure I read in the upgrade process that I'd keep all the same things (card, sort code, account number etc.) so I was quite surprised.

I said @strictgold5208 may wish to contact Lloyds to check if they sent a new one out, as if they did, with a new card number, the existing card will likely expire before the original expiry date (in my experience with other banks one month after the new card was issued).

The bank provides the opportunity to request a new card in the event their current one in lost, stolen or defective. There is no option to request one because you fancy a new design (leave alone one which you don't even know exists). Edit - turns out you can just request one. Doesn't mean you should tho.

Similarly you can open a dozen accounts at once - again you shouldn't do this.
