Let's apply the logic in your post for the sake of argument, you are telling customers not to request cards they are entitled to under the policy of the bank. ie if customer upgrades from a classic Lloyds account to a club Lloyds account, the bank sends them a new card.
So I am afraid you need to direct your comment to Lloyds banking group and not roam the forums trying to get likes. One thing I like about MSE is that nobody hardly every talks politics or brings in stuff like this, I hope it stays that way.
Not to add to say ordering a plastic card is "disrespectful" to a banking group which funds god knows what i'd say is missing the big picture. The bank provides the opportunity to request a new card in the event their current one in lost, stolen or defective. There is no option to request one because you fancy a new design (leave alone one which you don't even know exists). Edit - turns out you can just request one. Doesn't mean you should tho.Similarly you can open a dozen accounts at once - again you shouldn't do this.ForumUser7 said:WillPS said:Might just poke my nose in here to say that unneccessarily reordering cards (which are, appearance aside, identical in terms of functionality in all instances) is disrespectful both to the bank and the environment.
I said @strictgold5208 may wish to contact Lloyds to check if they sent a new one out, as if they did, with a new card number, the existing card will likely expire before the original expiry date (in my experience with other banks one month after the new card was issued)..
Not really sure where you are trying to go with this. If I want to order a new card I will. You skipped over my points.0 -

My point is there is a cost to both the bank and the environment. Everyone is free to do as they wish.

My point is there is a cost to both the bank and the environment. Everyone is free to do as they wish.It isn't actually. I dunno why @ForumUser7's was (perhaps because their account was changed from a youth one) but all my experience with LBG is that no new card is issued when account type changes. But yeah, obviously I am not taking exception to instances where Lloyds decide themselves to issue a new one.4 -

I also upgraded my Halifax Expresscash to Halifax Rewards, and that sent out a new card automatically too.
I've checked the screenshots I took during the upgrade, once it was all finished the screen said they would be sending a new debit card. It said a new PIN is being sent too. @strictgold5208 - did you get this on your final screen too?If you want me to definitely see your reply, please tag me @forumuser7 Thank you.

I still have my Lloyds Premier card from mid-2020 (downgraded not long after that), and was told unless lost it I can carry on using it, and will be replaced with whatever flavour club account I have when it expires in autumn this year. Apple Pay image hasn't changed either despite me down/down/up/downgrading the account type quite a few times.

Has anyone actually produced a themed card other than the standard current account card new design wise? So far it seems for the standard current account range there may only be one card design.
I have seen the credit card, spending account and private banking in this thread. But no themed cards for a standard account range.1
