  • It’s not 7 slabs , full L shaped.
In which case of course they will match as they will all be new slabs. You wouldn't be able to claim for this part via the small claims court- well you could, but it would be disregarded.

No we have one layer of old slabs which they laid and instead of matching with that colour they laid rest with a different colour.

There was already a patio there and since we built a conservatory , we had to rebuild it and they used few of our old slabs to rebuild, so ideally rest should have been of same colour as they mentioned in writing that matching slabs will be laid.

I'm well aware of that, i've followed the thread and seen the pictures. As pointed out numerous times, you was never going to get a colour to match as the old slabs are weathered. You can't now have every single slab replaced and try and claim that back from the original landscaper.

More than unmatched slabs, the patio is puddling at various locations. Today third landscaper came and he said it’s totally wrongly built and needs to be taken off and fixed. Once the slabs are removed only he can understand what exactly went wrong.
It’s not just one or slabs which needs to be fixed , the whole L shape.
He is yet to give me quote.

This time we are lucky as few landscapers have responded and they will boost in the next few days, so we know.
Today it was raining heavily so lots of puddles have formed.Acc to Consumer rights2015, reasonable care and skill and not been taken to do this job.

Just be cautious.  Every trade will blame the trade before.  I am not saying the trade before is not at fault....but you are standing with your wallet open and pound notes are falling out.....

Indeed, it's not exactly a huge surprise to visualise another landscaper standing there sucking his* teeth and saying "ooh, you've had some cowboys in here!" - if needing support for a court or bank claim, OP would need expert input from someone independent....

The consumer rights act may well say that reasonable care and skill should be taken in doing a job, but it does not say ANYTHING about whether it has or hasn't been taken in your specific case. That's for a court to decide based on the evidence you provide.

That's why OP was told to get the work inspected back on page 3 of the thread, now up to 19 pages long with a lot of pointless posts aggravating the issue..... (not aimed at you in particular :) )

I said bye bye in page17, but people are again coming behind me and saying my case is not strong even after having puddled patio which makes me think all landscapers are jointly trying to dissuade me anyways I’m going to do what I feel is right in connection with few advises I got here plus what citizens advise told me.
Already I took the first step and let me see where this is leading to .

Between second gardener has given £600 discount today which makes me wonder what the original cost is.

If anyone can help me what you feel abt the cost of this work it would be great!!

  • Yes, we have enough brain to understand that.We are not immediately planning to fix this but will definitely go behind the first one using the available advises and wait.
  • I don’t have any money left also.
