Avoid websites, anyone can make up reviews. Ask friends, neighbours, relatives for recommendations.

Second landscaper has always quoted 2500£ rework or if he was the first one to do it.

Easy for him to say that now. Where did you come across this second landscaper? What makes you think he's right and the first one was wrong?

Is there a local Facebook page where you could ask for recommendations.?
Did you confirm which slabs the second guy is going to match? Is it the old ones or the new ones?

perhaps perhaps asking landscapers is your problem. You want somebody to lay a patio, not landscape your garden. Landscapers are usually employed in design and layout, not just laying some slabs. The job may be too small to interest a landscaper.

No neighbours I asked have ever done this as they know how to fix the garden by themselves unlike us. Our friends all have second hand houses where they already have garden and they are not much bothered abt beautification like me
We have more backyard compared to many people we know.

All of u said that 4000£ was robbery and water puddles and second one sounds knowledgable and the work he did was also good .

I agree you must get another quote, you seem to be relying on this second landscaper.  How do you know he is any more reliable than your first one?
True but what to do.Do you know any site I can search for landscapers?
    Local facebook group.

'Hi, looking for some work done to my patio - namely X,Y and Z. Can anyone post any company recommendations?'

Don't mention landscaping, don't mention the dispute on the post and carry out all the usual checks on any companies recommended.

People that said it was robbery did so on the basis of a few photos and without knowing all the details. It does sound overpriced, but without knowing all the details no one can be sure.

So you've seen work this second tradesman has done? That's good.  Have you spoken to his customers, or just seen photos he's shown you?
