There is no leak in hose. It’s the water from previous days rain. Now I know I need to take the hose away before the rain and then take pics.powerful_Rogue said:Dewdrops1420 said:
It’s not that hose is leaking as I have not used it for a long time and it’s usually where it is. Just a resting place , so I know that I should take away before taking pics. Thanks!!Aylesbury_Duck said:
Not really. It suggests to me that you might have a dripping/leaking hose on that reel. The water looks like it emanates from it and then has migrated along the patio. That water is far too fresh to have been out in sunlight for two days.Dewdrops1420 said:
This is how my patio looks after continuous sunlight for two days.Does this not prove that we require an immediate fix and the trader is at fault?tightauldgit said:
They definitely will be walking completely free after this. Whether they are couple of grand shorter in their wallet is another story.Dewdrops1420 said:
At the moment asked for amicable settlement. Last option is court as we also know it’s not easy though had a better thought as this is UK, a developed country but understood from the posts that courts all over the world are for namesake .But we will make sure that the first guys are not walking completely free after putting us in this position.tightauldgit said:
Then what exactly are you thinking of? Court is the process by which such disputes are resolved if the contractor isn't willing to accept your complaint and rectify it.I’m not thinking abt court
your lines suggest that you are the landscaper? You don't have to have used the hose for that and the tap to have a leak. I also agree it looks like a leak.I believe @Aylesbury_Duck fits in his landscaping work around his various jobs at Tesco, Argos, Royal Mail and Aldi.0 -
Have you cleaned out the section between fence & patio?Dewdrops1420 said:

\looking at the flare on Pic, sun is behind fence & as such does it get right round to the patch where hose is for any length of time to warm the flags enough to clear the water?
What is the black (pipe) on the left hand side where water appears to stem from?
If the person who did the L shape section with the lighter flags, under door.
Then that puddle by fence has nothing to do with them. As it appears that both outer flags slope to the middle line & the water can not drain away from there under fence.Life in the slow lane1 -

I'll try again...what's on the other side of that fence? It does look like the surface water emanates from that end, and the bottom of the fence posts and kickboards look wet, too.4 -
Don't forget DFS and Sofology. I've got a whole load of sofa inspections to do this afternoon. Then I've got a late shift at Currys.powerful_Rogue said:Dewdrops1420 said:

I didn’t introduce any water, this is after the rain and it has nothing to do with the hose or the pipe. I got the point that the hose should have been removed before taking the pic. That’s a good point as people who inspect might also ask about the same.born_again said:

We already got couple of gardeners who inspected and confirmed that this is a serious flaw in the job and got quote and exact issue.
one of the slabs is not at the same height of the other slabs and overall lots of mistakes and hence cause this puddling0 -
Why do you keep asking us, a bunch of strangers on the internet, then? You've had two professional inspections of the patio, done in person and which have provided a diagnosis and a quote for putting it right. What do you think we can add based on one two-dimensional photo with little context?Dewdrops1420 said:

You can guess that 😉today I got the point about the hose and pipe in the pic which has nothing to do with the puddle . Thanks!!Aylesbury_Duck said:

What's the exact issue and what are "the lots of mistakes" that these two gardeners have identified? What costs have they quoted to put things right? Surely your efforts on here are better spent asking people whether what you've been told is sensible, credible and adds to your court case against the original trader, rather than having us all try and second-guess what's going on from one photo with all sorts of red herrings in it?2 -
Have you been in contact with CAB as they advised you to do?
There is no point is keeping showing pictures on here and wanting people to agree with you. People on here have interpreted these pictures differently to how you consider the situation.
if you want to take the case to court then it would be better to do it sooner than later.
Nobody here can tell you what a court will decide but even if they agree with you you still have to get the money .

That doesn't look to me like leftover rain from two days ago: The water's too wet and the dried flags too dry.Dewdrops1420 said:

It looks much more like a really recent leak from somewhere or really recent spillage of water. As already pointed out, if you zoom in on the top right corner of the image the fence posts and gravelboard look to have had water splashing up them recently. The demarcation between the wet and dry parts is really clear.7
