Yesterday was our first day on Agile and what a first day - we used 20% more electricity but only 44% of the cost than the previous day. Our average cost was 10.55p per kWh (20kW for £2.11). Really impressed and a very promising start.
We don't think we are currently able to shift that much usage away from 4-7pm, but still working out cheaper for us. We will still need to cook (electric oven) during those times, so a Sunday roast is going to hurt, but things like washing machine / dishwasher can be easily moved outside of peak times.
We are planning an ASHP which will run 24/7 in winter, and can turn that off 4-7pm, taking advantage of cheaper prices the rest of the time.
I feel like I've missed a trick being late to Agile, where our electricity bills have been horrendous the last couple years (around 6500kWh per year). I'm guessing we are going to be around 12,000kWh per year with the heat pump, so Agile should really help with that.

Agile has become cheaper than Tracker for a lot of people even without much load shifting since they recently increased the prices of Tracker, and both are still a lot cheaper than SVT - I don't think there's been a single day in the last year when they were higher than SVT.

Today' won't be as good as there is a lot less offshore wind - you can usually predict that cheaper days by whether it's a weekend, and also what is the offshore wind forecast for electric generation (and in the Summer solar).

So far so good, managed to time-shift and cut usage again. They could update the online portal to match the app, as the former lacks estimated cost tab (at least on my browser/OS). Hopefully will have superinsulated my house over the summer and not have to use the gas very much over winter.

Question - why do tomorrow's Agile rates sometime end at around 10:30 or 11:00pm, missing the last couple of 30min periods?
For example, tomorrow's pricing only goes up until 10:30-11:00pm and there is no pricing for the last two 30min slots.

Hi - the prices are day ahead prices based on an index that uses Central European Time (CET) which is an hour ahead. They cover the period from 00:00 CET to 24:00 CET which 23:00 GMT to 23:00 GMT.

Probably more interesting question why tomorrow 22:30 costs 5p and today 10p if the sale auctions were quite similar 54-58 euro?

So presumably that means we will not know the pricing for 23:00 - 00:00 until after the wholesale auction ends at 4pm tomorrow?

The Agile price is based on the wholesale price as determined by the Octopus formula here:
    Outside of peak times (4-7pm), it's simply 2.2 x wholesale price(p)
Today's price at 22:30 is 11.4p and tomorrow's price is 6.3p (inc VAT), so the wholesale prices must have been 4.94 and 2.73p, respectively (wholesale prices are ex-VAT)
You can get the wholesale prices for your region here:

The multiplier varies by region doesn't it, but they don't give them.

Placed an order to switch, forgot about this for a while.

I checked octopus compare app for the last month.

Every single day agile was green except one day, I checked the one day tracker was green.

On that day I used the oven twice, one during the surge period, and the other during a 30 minute spell agile was a little more expensive than tracker, it was like the perfect storm for tracker to win lol.  It then won very slightly by 2p.

Also I finally won more than 8 points on a spin wowsers, 800 points, and cashed it in alongside all the other stacked points I built up.

After tariff changed will probably need to ring to get Variable DD reinstated as well.

For the month Agile would have saved me £6.92.

I downloaded the Eastern prices for today.  They are identical to my NW prices.

The multiplier is the same (I would gauge from this) for all regions.
