My smart meter stopped sending readings about three weeks ago and they only got it working again on Friday.  Consequently there is a lot of missing data.  Could I ask them to delay my next bill?  Hopefully that would allow time for more data to be retrieved.

I'm not sure whether you can delay the bill or not, but I think that they well correct any past bill automatically when the data comes through - they did in my case. I realise this doesn't answer your question but hope it helps.
If the smart meter fails to send through data, don't Octopus correct this by using one of their standard tariffs to fill in the gaps?

Hi - if the data doesn't come through at all then yes, that's what they do. If there is a delay and the data comes through after the bill goes out they can use that to correct the estimated bill which is what they did in my case and I assume is something they do as a matter of course. Hope this makes sense?

I have decided to switch from Agile back to Flux, I tried Agile for a couple of months unfortunately it does not suit our usage.

Makes a lot of sense. It's difficult to know if Agile is going to work for you unless you actually try it, and one of the advantages of Agile is that the ease of switching makes it straightforward enough to switch back if it doesn't work for you.

7/8th of our electric is off peak on Flux 16.11 p the other 1/8th standard rate 26.85p, at least we gave it a try.

Had our bill through yesterday complete with a breakdown, looks like I jumped the gun my average cost per kWh 15.03p, I am assuming I will have to wait 30 days to switch back.

Hi, I'm not following your there? Aren't you saying you've saved money on Agile?

Also worth noting that your bill covers what for me was the most expensive period for Agile since joining in May, so might be worth holding on for a bit. Looking at the weather forecast it seems likely that we're in for a week of low pricing with lots of wind energy to bring costs down.

I think you can change away from Agile any time but don't know what restrictions there are on Flux. But I really do think it would be worth holding back for a few weeks and seeing how things go for a bit longer.
  • End of my current billing period, today. I won't be surprised if my average cost per kWh is over 20p.

Did you remember to add VAT to the figure on the bill? If you look VAT is charged after the units times unit rate is applied.

Yes I actually saved money on Agile, I estimated it to be around the 20p mark, I was surprised at 15.03p, it became a pain switching my energy use around everyday including charging up the PHEV, I am going to sit back and take my time come February the solar panels will start to produce some decent energy so will be less dependant on the grid, on Flux we average around 20p kWh.
