I applied to put my gas on Tracker and Octopus told me that my electricity couldn't stay on Agile if I do that.  Is this correct?

No.  I moved to tracker gas last week. Electricity still on Agile.

  • Huge proportion of electricity generation expected from wind overnight - I wonder if we'll get some more plunge pricing? It's certainly proving to be another rollercoaster month of high highs and low lows...

Will be nowhere near negative going off the morning auction pricing. 3-4am is £21 per MWh, would need to be much lower or even negative to cause negative pricing on Agile.

It will still be cheap, though, for a number of hours.
  • Yep, sth like under 10p from midnight till 6am with under 5p between 2-5 am.
Anyway, next two days appear windy and the MWh for 22-23 is also low so likely two days like this.

  • Ok I was almost right yesterday  B)
Tomorrow there is £13.88 for MWh between 3-4am - that could be a negative - on Sunday similar prices resulted in -2.1p/1.0p and -1.3p/1.0p.
  • Looks like we're about to swing the other way and close the month out on some high (by Agile standards) pricing, Assuming: Low wind + Low temperature = High Price

Weighted averages for November to date for me are Agile 13.66p/kWh and Tracker 18.25p/kWh. I'm expecting Tracker to average out a little bit higher by the end of the month and Agile to average out a lot higher, but still a worthwhile amount below Tracker. But let's see what happens - maybe I've grasped the wrong end of the stick completely (again  )

On the other hand, just had my Octoplus points awarded (while on Agile) for the recent session - 0.19kWh - 42p😂
If I wasn't on Agile this would have been much higher but I'm already extremely savvy during that time..
  • I got 43p. I was amazed that was a saving of 87% on what I thought was next-to-nothing already.

    Tomorrow is a very stretched Economy7  :D

Fine for me during the week, when everyone's coming home at 7ish PM, but if these prices last over the weekend (which they will by looking at the weather) family may not be too happy  :disappointed:

    Interestingly Tracker is 22p

To switch Agile off, is it just a phone call to Octopus or can this be done online? Also, is it similar to getting onto Agile that it's from the day we click on a link?

What are your plans when to switch away?
