I was just looking at the pretty picture.

Obviously more to it than that

Nordpool pricing is in pounds per megawatt-hour. Divide by ten for pence per kilowatt-hour.

So the 140 on that chart is £140 per MWh which is 14p per kWh.

With ref to Silverwhistle's comments above, time for decision on a new tariff is fast approaching as my Fixed 14 month comes to an end.

I did a fairly simple static comparison of the annual costs for me from what is on offer, fixed, variable and smart. Over a year (using my consumption statistics) there was not much to choose between them. With surprisingly the notable exception of Agile. In times like now one would shy away from such volatile tariffs, the more so considering that my performance as a load shifter must rate as pretty unimpressive. My question is, for those that have been with Agile over at least an annual cycle, in your experience have the swings been (over) compensated for by the roundabouts, for those whose lifestyle has not been skewered by serious load shifting? I'd be interested to swap experience (which on reflection is what forums are for).

Location: North East inland. Solars yes but battery / EV no.

If you can't do some very basic load shifting and avoidance of the expensive Agile slots then no it's probably not for you.

Most Agile users should be able to beat the average monthly off peak price per kWh so that's the benchmark in my opinion and the averages per months for your region can be found here as a guide for what the year would cost with your usage profile

    https://agileprices.co.uk/

Our average for the past 12 months, which will bear no reference to your usage profile is 15p kWh.

For a small fee the octopus compare app can drag your data from the last year and calculate it all for you

Use that app Octopus compare and see what would it be for you without doing anything. That convinced me as it was 15% cheaper tto start with.

And there's a lot of other factors - I think your usage was very small - like 5kWh a day - in July and January? Then there isn't really much gain of shifting - if half of it is always "dinner" that you make at 6pm then not worth it.

I'd consider EDF FreePhase - you can get referral for £75 to start with and it's much easier to manage - you can just focus on avoiding 16-19 and the rest should be much cheaper than SVR. About 16p/kWh on average:

    Hi All

I've moved across to Agile from Tracker today.

Various sites and apps will show me the prices for today and tomorrow. I like Agilebuddy UK which provides a clear bar graph of prices through to tomorrow night.

But that has to be accessed via a browser. I am wondering if there is an Android app that will do the same thing in a way so simple that even my wife can look at it? :-) .. she is a fan of Octotracker, which is dead simple, but I haven't found anything that good for Agile yet. Just a simple visual graph for today and tomorrow is all we need. Any suggestions?

If what I said helped you, please "Thank" the relevant post. It cheers me up somewhat..

I use octopus compare updates 4pm well just after each day for next day prices.

I had a look at the most recent 30 days and also aware of course the current costings are affected by the 3.5p discount.

If I am forced to leave EON, I think it will be agile again, my maths puts this as cheaper for me than Octopus GO fixed, although recently I have increased my early hours usage a bit and consistent usage, which puts GO a bit closer.

Hopefully EON sort out the smart saver I signed up to though.
