I don't know, I just know that they have definitely changed the standing charge over time.masonic said:
Are you saying there are people grandfathered into ancient versions with lower standing charge? The standing charge jumped in July 2022. Since then they raised it successively in small increments until October 2024 where it has remained ever since.Spoonie_Turtle said:
The standing charge differs for new joiners. I doubt it was ~47p for my region back when they launched the tariff!masonic said:
Agile hasn't been updated in a long time. Not even the standing charge.Newbie_John said:Anyone has any ideas how today's budget changes may impact Agile prices?
MSE suggests that SVR rate will drop by 3.5p from April 2026 - will the same apply to Agile rates?
At one point it was a fixed 12-month tariff (formula and SC fixed) and in theory new versions could come out within those 12 months with a different SC, but whether that actually happened I don't know. And whether that's still the case I also don't know.
**Rereading, it seems the main point of confusion here is that I didn't clock October 2024 being 'a very long time', as the SVT standing charge hasn't massively fluctuated (at least in my region) in that time - but that's just down to individual interpretation, not an intended quibble.**0 -
The main point is they have passed on all the increments, but none of the subsequent reductions. So this (predicted) reduction is unlikely to buck that trend.0

Is this anything to do with the reduction in HH energy costs announced in the Budget?Telegraph Sam

Telegraph_Sam said:Is this anything to do with the reduction in HH energy costs announced in the Budget?Oh, I hadn't seen the Energy Company Obligation is being scrapped and Renewables Obligation is being moved mostly to general taxation. Then there is a possibility we could see a reduction in the 'D' factor in the price formula that represents distribution costs. Though it was not adjusted upward for the Covid19 & Bad Debt Allowance or other increases to distribution costs in recent years. When you look at what they have done to the Tracker formula, which is more regularly reviewed, you can probably get a taste for what could be argued is not yet accounted for in the Agile pricing formula.I therefore wouldn't hold my breath, but maybe we'll get lucky.1

They could well fiddle about with all these variables and none of us with the honourable exception of yourself would be any the wiser. Case for sticking with the Loyalty fix till the dust has settled.Telegraph Sam

My SC jumped by 10p in February last year from c50p to 62p when my original contract ended - looks like it's still that rate for new joiners ...Spoonie_Turtle said:
