Be careful! For a couple of months in 2024 I was on agile. On minus days I would put things on excessively and that included putting bowls of water in the microwave to try to earn a few extra pennies.Anyway on one minus day, using the microwave pointlessly and excessively it conked out and completely ruined it.So on a minus day like tomorrow. I wouldn't be putting things on excessively like a kettle or you might ruin it.1

I don't think I've come across a better day in the 2 years I've been on Agile.1

Octopus Compare continues to put my 14-M March Loyalty Fix £5 ahead of (lower than) Agile on the ("year" = ) 7 month scan. I would like to draw Tomato into the comparison but it seems that this is not possible. Has anyone found a way of making Tomato "comparable"?
Edit: I can't decide if this post got sent previously, or if a draft just got saved. If the former pls disregard and zap this latest

You would need to find out the relevant tariff rates and add as a custom tariff. For my region it was 5p (1-6 am), 14.04p (8:30-10:30am, 2-4pm), 23.26p other times, with 42.86p standing charge. All a bit academic, as Tomato has just received a further notice of default and another ban from taking on new customers - it is unlikely this will be lifted for 6 months based on the notice and ongoing Provisional Order from Ofgem. For low users like us, Agile will tend to be more expensive during the week due to the standing charge, but cheaper at weekends. For me, this pretty much cancels out, but days like today would probably put Agile very slightly ahead (sadly I'm not at home to make good use of today and tomorrow).1 -
Agree about not using mechanical type things purely to use energy even when it is free or negative - but it is a great time to do things like a WM 90° wash to clean its internals! We were out all day yesterday on a pals birthday pub crawl and I only checked the prices when we got in by fluke - glad I did though! DW emptied and run on a hot wash with white vinegar, WM run with towels (annoyingly the last clothing run needed was done earlier on in the day!) and set to tumble those as well - and it’s now tumbling again to finish them off with drying. MrEH set the bread maker up to bake a loaf overnight which I have just taken out so the place smells amazing too! I need to raid the freezer in a bit to see if there is anything I can stick in the oven later really although we’re out this afternoon so that might not work. MrEH put the lights and underfloor heating on in the garden office overnight too - although with the way that retains heat since the door was replaced I suspect that hasn’t used as much as he might have though it had! Bathroom U/F has been on too so cosy underfoot when I went in there first thing!Once MrEH is up I’ll get the bedding stripped - that can wash this afternoon on the cheapest slots - might even get it line dried this evening by sticking it out as soon as we get home.So far we are 11kWh used and 9p of credit showing - I’ll take that!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Can we conclude from the lack of s/c charge change that Octopus does not want really low users on the tariff, perhaps as they can't make up the profit when prices are high?0

Similar here but becoming higher users due to the cheaper unit rates, monthly bills well under £40 now the better weathers here & just renewed Agile for another year. Hope they don't mess with it as it's fine as is.2 -
I wonder if this is not a case of Unintended [Environmental] Consequences with Agile users up and down the country piling on the kWh's like there's no tomorrow ..
To come to a judgement it is a case of inputting one's profile into Octopus Compare and noting the results in the 4 time frames, especially the longer ones. Tomato, as you say, being noticeable by its absence.Telegraph Sam
