Wow - just swapped back to Agile. I took less than a minute to get the email with the T&Cs and the change was instantaneous. Now watch the wind drop and gas prices soar!Debt Free Wannabe by 1 December 2027

They may be forced to offer that by Ofgem, but a version of Agile or Cosy where the peaks are prohibitively expensive may also work with TOU with a zero s/c.Increasing the price of each unit of energy

It's most likely that Ofgem will mandate ZSC versions of the SVT, and less likely that they'll ask for ZSC versions of conventional fixes. But complex tariffs like Agile or Tracker, or Green Energy Tide, or Tomato's various TOU offerings? They're not in Ofgem's spotlight, since it's an active (and informed) choice for a consumer to take one of those.N. Hampshire, he/him. They definitely want everyone to have smart meter, smart meters make most with TOU tarrifs, so Agile would be a perfect tarrif to drop SC - it's a really big win for everyone.
With a normal capped tariff when someone uses 100% of electricity between 16-19 octopus makes up loses from standing charge, but if people were taught to avoid peak times / paid extra for them - then that would work fine.
Also would bring more TOU tarrifs for average person without expensive green-tech.0 -

Energy retailers pass most of the standing charge on, they are just collecting the money.1
