Octopus Agile

I am sticking with agile until it ends in March as 55p s/c against 66p if I move to another tariff, still works for me as ultra low user but Cosy would be the best bet if I had an electric boiler or heat pump to qualify. Will try to get a HP when the new grants come in from April if applicable. As it is not too cold down south west, touch wood, I have now turned off the gas at the meter until December. I have just about managed to recovered the lost £300 from not having the winter fuel allowance by cutting right back on C/H use plus a few rewards from Octopus - actually have £90 extra from nine months of savings on Agile. One thing about Agile is that it will not work at all with my halogen heaters, timing is completely wrong, they are only used with negative pricing events (remember them?). Super high prices on Agile at least gave me the incentive to fine-tune my usage and I am pretty sure I could survive off-grid with a reasonably sized solar/battery installation.1

I managed to get a load line dried today, think that was preferable to waiting for a cheap spell1

Think I'm going to bite the bullet for now and switch to the fix. I'm on the current agile version anyway so not getting the benefit of lower standing charges. As soon as I do though you can all expect super cheap rates for the next month.2

For various complicated historical reasons, this is done in several different ways depending on how old your meter is, and where you live.
Octopus then does a mass pull of the data into their systems. If Octopus triggers this before your data is in the “cloud”, the data will be missing. If this happens to me I usually wait a week or so and if it’s still missing then I ping Octopus (on Twitter!) and they usually fix it within a few hours.
DCC do not cache the messages.
Sites like n3rgy and apps are licensed to access your meters stored data across their network. As are the suppliers.
And yes Octopus can fail on tge daily attempt - but recover ax can others historically if request it.
Doesn't mean they will rebill a smart tariff to missing data if does reload though.

Yikes, a horrible peak when I make my morning coffees (gone back to boiling (a cup of) water rather than nuking it in the microwave, following previous comments), this is getting annoying.1
