    Wossappenin?
Last night was cheaper than previously, tonight is looking lower again and 22:30 looks like lower tomorrow.
Am I being swept away on an optimistic wind wave??

Yes, the rates look pretty dire to me and 2230 is hardly worth writing home about at 17.94p.
2kWp Solar PV - 10*200W Kioto, SMA Sunny Boy 2000HF, SSE facing, some shading in winter, 37° pitch, installed Jun-2011, inverter replaced Sep-2017 AND Feb-2022.

Well it looks like it's going to get worse again, high rates on Friday and Saturday according to Agile Predict. Some better days after that

    Quote:-
"Meter readings: the DCC does not have access to individual meter readings. These are encrypted and securely transported to energy providers and distribution networks."

My Tracker gas account has had regular failures of data. Every month since joining Tracker, there has been at least one period each month lasting around 2.5 days where data was missing. Octopus have never recovered this missing data until I have notified them that it was missing. They seem totally unable to discover why this happens and to fix it.

There has been no problem at all with electricity.

That just means they dont have the ability to decrypt.  They can still be a proxy.

Looks like the suppliers fetch from the DCC gateway.

DCC provide connectivity to the meters to authorised users and suppliers.  They do not store the data themselves.

The standing charge might go up, I guess at least quarterly?

Also if a lot of people do this, then I guess octopus will change how it works.
PPI success. Banding success. Double Dip PCN cancelled! South facing solar (Midlands) and battery. Savings Session supporter (is it worth it now!?)

Yes and no.  It's already against the T&Cs which state 30 days between switching between smart tariffs; butbat the moment they're evidently not enforcing that so yes, this kind of thing no doubt will prompt them to start doing so.

Edit: ooh, I might be wrong on a technicality.

"1.3 You can always switch from a standard import tariff to a smart import tariff (provided you meet the eligibility criteria for that particular tariff), but if you switch away from a smart import tariff, you cannot switch back to a smart import tariff within 30 days."
    https://octopus.energy/policies/smart-tariffs-terms-and-condition/

So as long as you're staying on (a) smart tariff(s), it might be fine?

I think if it remains just a few people they will leave it alone, but if it ends up on ukhotdeals it gets shut down.

I don't think you were wrong. Years ago there was a period where Agile spiked heavily one winter and many opted to escape to the safety of Go. However, the 30 day rule did apply according to Octopus. Agile is a smart import tariff. Substituting it in for "a smart import tariff": "...but if you switch away from [Agile], you cannot switch back to [Agile] within 30 days". Same applies for Go.
So they just need to start enforcing it if they wish to clamp down. If there were 30 different smart tariffs, perhaps you could spend a day on each in a cycle without breaking this term. Somebody could build a sophisticated model to compute the optimal order for the sequence based on the weather forecast ;)
