Also, there are posters on other forums claiming that Octopus is not enforcing the 30 day limit on switching back to Agile if you switch away, and they have been switching almost daily in the last few weeks.
I have just switched over to Octopus Go for a few weeks and will switch back to Agile later on - since we now have an EV and a PHEV in the house, the savings from Agile vs Go are not nearly as large as before anyway even in the good months.
This will also mean I can take a break from faffing about, and it most likely means Agile prices will plummet tomorrow due to murphy's law! (you can thank me later).0 -
The price will drop the day after I give up on it.
This peak is going to seriously stretch my attempt to keep the total (gas and electricity) bill below £70, 3 days left til billing day and about 3.50 to play with.
I've saved pounds, often £15 a month since March though so have to take the rough with the smooth1 -

that concurs with my, glancing at the weather forecast, prediction too. I reckon I can keep under £70, with mebe a penny to spare ... maybe1

Tomorrow looks like it could hit the £1 cap.I won't be doing crispy jacket potatoes as originally planned.Last year I got cold feet and regreted ita few days later. They weren't enforcing the 28 days then. Although jumping now and returning will incur higher standing charges so I'll sit it out.Hopefully of negatives over xmas and new year. We are away so can run the heating full pelt if being paid without discomfort.Bit more wind at the weekend and Nuclear set to step up from Sunday too.At least gas pricing is heading in the right direction.2

I'm not on agile, but checked my energy region for curiosity, and today's peak is 99.9915p/kWh - I notice that another energy region has this same peak, but a different average and minium, so, presumably, this is the £1 cap in practice?

Well I cooked double of various bits yesterday evening to combine to feed us this evening, and if tomorrow is as grim then it will be cheese & crackers for tea (whether we like it or not, she says, knowing full well that we will very much like it!)
I warned MrEH to sit down before he looked at the rates yesterday evening - he was aghast at the prices first thing, and then did indeed nearly fall over when he saw the peak slot prices!
We've scooted all the way up to 94.77p at peak today - so looking at where other regions have ended up I assume that can be considered the ceiling for us if others are bouncing off the £1 level?🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
