Bunging a couple more candles in the care box along with some reusable hand warmers. Also have a large fluffy cat you can borrow as long as you don't mind the claws.
I came back from hiding out in the shops for a couple of hours to find that next door's cat must have snuck in before I shut the door so I had a nice warm seat. Luckily he hadn't needed to relieve himself though ...

I am starting to suspect that one of other generating company has figured out how to game the system to force sky high prices when they want a bit of extra profits.

Also, there are posters on other forums claiming that Octopus is not enforcing the 30 day limit on switching back to Agile if you switch away, and they have been switching almost daily in the last few weeks.

I have just switched over to Octopus Go for a few weeks and will switch back to Agile later on - since we now have an EV and a PHEV in the house, the savings from Agile vs Go are not nearly as large as before anyway even in the good months.

This will also mean I can take a break from faffing about, and it most likely means Agile prices will plummet tomorrow due to murphy's law! (you can thank me later).
Nope, they will be going up again based on early pricing.
And presumably if you switch from Agile and switch back you lose your existing Standing Charge rate - I'm currently on 52p so not keen on losing that especially as it makes up half my daily spend in normal times ...

  • Saving session just been emailed 6-7 tonight, think they're expecting to struggle with tea time demand
  • 60p in octopoints per kWh, hmmm I'll earn about 6p I think but as everything off anyway may as well

Not sure I'll actually earn anything as I tend to use next to nothing in the 6 - 7 spot but I suppose it's better than a pooke in the eye with a sharp stick when you're sitting in the dark and cold!

  • same, my 6p was based on what the app says i use then (0.1kWh) but that's well rounded, it's actually 0.02. it's all off anyway

I m back to using my old very pricey warm Mountain Equipment Down sleeping bag .It's so warm I don t even  need the gas fire on .Maybe a hot water bottle inside too which the cat likes to sit on.
I m going to beat them just out of principle and switch the lot off at consumer unit for the bonkers half hour segments  4 pm to 7 pm and not use any of their overpriced electrons at all.
Gas price on Tracker has been under 6 p for last four days in a row well under SVT so it's not all bad news .I m hoping that the EU have got to nearly full stocks as the last two years gas went right down coming into January when that was announced .

I didn't use to save much, even switching everything off at the consumer unit, but I've had a heat pump for three weeks, and I haven't yet scheduled it to avoid the evening peak, so maybe I'll be in the money!
