  • One day like this I would survive - longer walk after work and dinner at 8:30 but.. it will be very similar on Thursday and Friday..
Best to look at it in the round. Saving 25-50% on the SVT, most of the year, puts a few days of paying top dollar into perspective.
    Fully agree. It's just sometimes harder to notice that 100 * 20p saved > £2 lost 😅

Is it likely to be like this until the weekend?
Wind should pick up into Saturday (and I'm not taking about the consequences of your dietary choices)

If you use Octopus Greener Days forecast as a proxy for likely Agile prices (link) then no, it won't be much better until the weekend.

Bunging a couple more candles in the care box along with some reusable hand warmers. Also have a large fluffy cat you can borrow as long as you don't mind the claws.

Worse again tomorrow based on early evidence.
  • 16-18 is definitely the highest I've ever seen, and compared to today's peak - it's only 50% more costly..

It's at times like this when I very much miss having a cat...or a small dog come to that, although they tend to me more wriggly!

Predict is entertaining today as the trace overlay shows quite how far they underestimated things!

Still, I'm C£5 up for the month at the moment, and a few rubbish days won't reverse that!

I am starting to suspect that one of other generating company has figured out how to game the system to force sky high prices when they want a bit of extra profits.

Also, there are posters on other forums claiming that Octopus is not enforcing the 30 day limit on switching back to Agile if you switch away, and they have been switching almost daily in the last few weeks.

I have just switched over to Octopus Go for a few weeks and will switch back to Agile later on - since we now have an EV and a PHEV in the house, the savings from Agile vs Go are not nearly as large as before anyway even in the good months.

This will also mean I can take a break from faffing about, and it most likely means Agile prices will plummet tomorrow due to murphy's law! (you can thank me later).
