My meter has stopped reporting usage to Octopus so I'm now unsure whether to just assume I'm on SVR now or not as per T&C's
Can you not check your tariff in your Octopus account? My Agile sows an end date - not sure what happens after that, whether it reverts to SVR.

That's not really what I was asking,,,

As per the terms, if they cannot retrieve half hourly data from your meter, they reserve the right to use the Flexible Octopus tariff with "Profile 1" (whatever that is) in order to bill you.

My question is, do I continue to make use of the cheap rates on Agile when charging my car for example in the hopes they can get readings from the meter at some point in the future?

Going by the terms and conditions the answer is yes you will be on SVR.

In practice Octopus may provide some goodwill averaging for a time but realistically you need to contact them and get the meter looked at.

It really does depend on what way the wind is blowing with Octopus as to what they do. Very inconsistent imo.

If you phone Octopus they should be able to check where the problem is and hopefully fix it one way or another.

How many days are missing? If it's 1 or 2 I would continue as normal, after that assume worst and call them.

    My apologies @Spies

As others have said, I would contact  Octopus and see if they are able to resolve the issue. My smart meter stopped sending data recently - a phone call got it fixed and sending data again, and a second phone call prompted them to retrieve the missing week's data when it wasn't sending. These occurrences seem to happen from time to time, but they appear to be able to fix them remotely in most cases.

If they can fix it remotely, I do wonder why a call is even necessary, no data arrived for few days - fix it, simple.

So far I only had a day or two missing data that sorted itself out.

It's spontaneously started sending data again but it's still missing the 4 or so days it wasn't.

It's been flawless up to now, maybe it just needed a rest  :D
