    Holiday photos look amazing.

You will get back into the swing of things, small steps.

Holiday photos are great Flowers  :)

Don't be too hard on yourself about the CC, you've had a lot going on and a holiday often knocks you off balance a bit.  I've learnt to only ever take a maximum of 10 days off at a time because otherwise I lose all sense of my regular routines and responsibilities  :D

It's good you've been able to use your savings to avoid the interest charges. And that you've had the various savings pots to raid when needed.
It's sometimes difficult to get back into the swing of things 'real life' after a nice holiday but you'll get there.

Enjoy the painting, the good drying weather and puppy snuggles!
    Thank you T2C
I really need to rein it in. Getting back to work definetely snaps you out of the holiday mood!

    What a stunning location 😍
Finance does take a few months to settle, hang in there.
Glad you've picked up the brushes again, it's so relaxing and something just for you; much needed after the last few months.
    Thank you MF
I am really wanting to paint again, which it's great, just need to make more time to get creative!

    Thanks Arrietty,
I am hourly back to it this week, with a tighter rein on the budget, although I do have prom things to buy!

So lovely to have lovely people on this forum.

The good news is that I cleared the CC yesterday.
The bad news is the DD decided that she wanted to go to the prom, in 10 days time! So we bought a dress and yep, it went on the CC!! 😱. Plus they're are other things to buy.👠📿👛 💇💅😳
So I need to work out the best way to pay that off as fast as possible. Which might mean raiding the saver account or the tax account! And then repay it. Hmmm. Will have a think.
DH is not impressed and thinks she shouldn't go, but I couldn't deny her, when I know it s something she really wanted but couldn't go to her school one, so this being organised by the home ed community

So today i saw my DM and took a painting to the art shop in her town for the July exhibition. Im not expecting it to win. But it would be lovely if it sold!

    Gratefuls
DD looked stunning in her dress
The drive to DMs was clear and easy
DH bought tea while was out, yey!

After DD really turned things around and managed her exams she should go to the prom!

Have you thought about using local selling groups as an outlet for sales? A few do it in mine and it's how I managed to get custom artwork for hubs.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.

Yes your right she really does have a lot to celebrate!!
I will check local groups, I did for a few before we went to the dress shop, but not for accessories!

  • Aw I think that is lovely your local home ed community are doing prom. Our local one isn't! I wouldn't deny it either.

We got the dress pretty cheap for DD, and shoes were from n3xt I think. Then I did her makeup, hair and tan so cost around £50 for bits to do that and I paid for her nails to be done as a treat so £37 there. When she told me what other kids were having done and how much the parents were spending I was pretty grateful all in I'd spent less than £200. I'd scour vinted and CS for accessories.

I drove her in too, and once in the queue was surrounded by Lamborghinis, Ferraris, suped up BMWs and Audi's and Aston Martins et al ...haha I had to laugh and so did DD it was so surreal.... One girl rode in on a horse. I'm glad DD saw the absurdity of it all for five minutes of pictures. I think they must have spent a fortune those parents. Lots of normal parents cars too though so we weren't alone in being in a normal car.

Can you make the money back through surveys perhaps? That's what my intention was...I've not quite got round to it yet.

Ps your photos look fab! Looks like a place with a lot of culture to take in. I love holidays like that! ❤️

Hello, been very difficult time since the holiday. I am feeling rather overwhelmed and life seems to keep throwing curve balls at me.
The saving pots have been raided, but im hoping to be back on it from now.
Hopefully the spendy bits have happened and i can refocus!

Good news that the home ed centre have money on my account which will help a lot with the prom spends! Need to spend them my account details!

    thanks SYA
Im trying to be kind to myself and not get so hung up on everything that has gone on and also the lack of action in the house and garden!!
I went out for coffee with a friend (yey to new friends!!) and ended up having lunch out too (oops! more spends!) But it was totally worth it and really good to chat and chat, I think we both really appreciated someone on the same wave length to chat to. We have so much incommon its a bit wierd!

and then this afternoon and evening I have been looking at trying to launch myslef into art sales! It is my dream to be able to give up the day job and create art. I have been saying this for about 4 years and although I have created a fair amount of paitning, not that many have sold. I have decided that now is the time to actually go for it, so I am going to get a plan together over the next week or two and break it down into steps and then see where we go!! I am also going to make a manifestation board tomorrow so I can visually see where I want to be and what I want to get out of it.
Feeling a little more positive this evening!

I am going to put the healing work I do on hold for the time being so spare energy and time can be used for this and then review in a few months.
