Sounds like DD had borrowed energy from future days to keep going with the exams. Hopefully the rest replenished her a bit.

That's a huge amount to find for pension top up, have you taken into account state and any other little pensions?

I'm assuming DH is paying into a pension via work, make sure he's nominated you as beneficiary, says he's married etc. check what spousal benefits there are. Also, make sure he's nominated you for any death in service benefits, perhaps apportioned between you and the kids for now and alter that as they finish school/ college.

I agree about the soil and rain, barely seems to have touched the surface let alone lower levels!

Don't get overdoing things yourself as you want to enjoy and sightsee while away; pottering is good, but nothing too full on.

Mornin MF, thanks for your reply.
I managed to add 100 to the pension pot this week.
I knew when I was setting the target it was to high. But I am desperately playing catch up! No previous pensions at all.😔 Been self employed for years and years, but only very part time due to the kids and never felt like I earned enough to put any away! Stupid!!
DH has a pension and had started upping it, when he gets a payrise he has been upping some the additional directly to his pension and yes I am named, but I think we will not have a huge amount unless we both knuckle down and add alot more. Trouble is life is busy and kids are expensive! Especially when they go to uni!, 🙄😂
My second income from my healing needs to be increased as this is where the extra is coming from

    It's a sunny Sunday today!
We are pooing into town too get a could of last minute holiday items.
I got my clothes out yesterday and realised I had thrown my going out shoes. I rarely wear them as I rarely go out and they were over 20 years old and the lining was she ding and making a mess when i wore them, I was sad to get rid of them as they were comfy and had a nice block heel. But a style now in fashion any more! So I will take a quick look to see if there is anything similar. And also some sunglasses mine are cracked around the rim and it only a matter of time until the y fall apart!! Also some pjs, but these are a want rather than a need. Week I guess they are all wants haha!
Also need suncream and dd wants a belt
The list seems to be getting longer!

Have you calculated what you'll need on retirement as you'll be mortgage free, kids have flown the nest etc. Potentially 2 full pensions just to cover utilities, insurance, car costs, food and fun.
If you're basing numbers on recommended 'average' that could be a fortune for some, others no where near enough.

Hi, back from holibobs and suitcases are unpacked, put away and the washing is done (but not the ironing!)
We had a very busy time and it was super hot, which made seeing all these ancient sites hard work! But it was beautiful!
Very unMSE though, we seemed to be spending so much money, so I now need to work lots and start to recouporate the money!

    morning,
Head is all over the place, and saving pots got raided and life is so busy and a bit crazy. Ive been feeling completetly out of sorts since the holiday.
I really feel like I need to get a lot of things sorted out.
I CC card got and begun to build up, I was intended to be used for fuel and then paid off directly, but it has slipped and I have used ot for various other things as well, But VERY annoylingly I just cant find on the app where or how much the interest i have paid is. It looks like I havent paid any, but that cant be true. It ridiculous that it not made more clear. Anyway, paid some off beginning of the week and another bit after working this week, so not too much on there, but I am annoyed with self for letting get into the low 100s at all. I can do better than that!!.

    Gratitudes
I need to imporve my mood and so amy going to try and inlcude these again here to make me have a postive view on the day!
Started painting again, this is fab, I have been idle with the paint brush for too long. So reworked a couple of paintings and started another 2. Very pleased to get in the studio.
Beautiful sunny morning here today, nice to see the sun streaming into the bedroom and know I can get the washing done and dried on the line today ~ small things!
I am meeting up with a lady and her daughter today, I hope it goes well, always nice to meet new people, I know so few people since living here.

    HAve a good day

went back to CC app and hunted down the interest. Hate not being able to work something out!! BUt it defeinetly wasnt clear!
Looks like I havent been charged any so far (why I coudnt fine it!), but I could see that £10 odd is going to be added to the next bill. This looks like the first month this has happened. So I have taken the outstanding from my saving account and settled the debt.
WILL ensure this doesnt creep up again!!
Feel better now this is done

    Gratitude
Pupster is snuggled against my leg ~ so I may just have to stay here all morning!!!

It's good you've been able to use your savings to avoid the interest charges. And that you've had the various savings pots to raid when needed.
It's sometimes difficult to get back into the swing of things 'real life' after a nice holiday but you'll get there.

Enjoy the painting, the good drying weather and puppy snuggles!

    What a stunning location 😍
Finance does take a few months to settle, hang in there.
Glad you've picked up the brushes again, it's so relaxing and something just for you; much needed after the last few months.
