Ok - well the car would make a difference - surely you’d be better on an EV tariff as that’s a lot of additional use at standard rate at the moment!

Would that work as well for a hybrid as a pure BEV.

Do they actually necessarily eat a lot of power - seen total charge estimates lower than 10kWh for some models ?

Some plug in hybrids don't seem to store much energy - like 25-30m worth rather than 150-300m+ for a pure BEV.

But if used at all - just like a house - cabin heating, screen heating to defrost etc - will likely be increasing the power drawdown - even at low mileage (disproportionately so as a fraction of total charge the lower the actual mileage I guess) over cold snaps.

And what about the impact on day rate - do the tariffs charge more - like a typical E7/E10 contract to compensate - wiping out a lot of cost saving for the lower hybrid vs BEV charge ?

This is roughly the current rate as it’s hybrid.

Thats a little higher charge at 13kWh than expected, but seems to confirm you are charging at the SVT c34p rate (4.42 /13=34p)

My real point was that potentially
    a) not all your mileage might be covered by battery - so may be using less electric than a full B EV - e.g. if you were commuting over the electric range regularly - so switching back to petrol etc.
    and
    b) You might end up increasing your other use bill
So having had a quick look at say the Octopus tariffs - they appear to charge a day premium of c8.3p - at c41.1p / kWh vs 32.8p EPG SVT here - to offset the fixed 10-12p EV rates.
So a bit like E7 peak / off-peak - you would have to look at your EV vs non EV usage - to see if worth while changing.
And just throwing it out there - has anyone found E7 works better for their use and a BEV / hybrid - than these more restrictive EV tariffs ?

If we had an electric vehicle we would very likely stick with our existing E7 tariff as it would enable us to still get the NSH’s fully charged in winter, as well as the timings working well for us in ensuring that we can do things like showering on the off peak rate most of the time.
