Please work on the Twitter account for Eon Next as an answer like this is exactly what I needed the last 3 days. Thank you 🙏🏼Northern_Wanderer said:BearBear71 said:
No we are on Next Flex variable with Eon Next. Up to January our Elec EPG was 17pkw and from January it’s gone up to 31.84p pkw. I contacted them but they were no help and just said prices went up.Mstty said:You must have just come off a fix?
Could go up to 43-43p in 1st April just so you are aware.I think you are misunderstanding your bill. The EPG rate you quote of 17p & 31.84p is the discount amount that is taken off the actual kwh rate, this is the governemnt support. On Flex From 1st Oct 2022 for me , the cost per kwh was 48.49p with a discount of 17p, so I paid 31.49p/ kwhOn Flex from 1st Jan 2023 for me, the cost per kwh was 63.05p with a discount of 31.84p, so I paid 31.21p/ kwhThe discounted rate is higher from January as the cost of electric increased, but customers were paying about the same. From April 1st 2023 this rate will change again, as will electricity costs.2 -
The EPG is marked on my Eon Next Bills (Oct-Dec inc) as being 17.00p/kWh reduction. The net effect inc VAT (after the EPG) was applied was (47.70 - 17.00)*1.05 = 32.24p/kWh (in the Northern region on Next Flex)
On January 1st there were some slight changes to the unit rates to Next Flex for those in the Northern region. So from bills covering post January 1st, the EPG was marked as being 31.84p/kWh reduction. The net effect inc VAT (after the EPG) was applied was (62.19 - 31.84)*1.05 = 31.87p/kWh (in the Northern region on Next Flex).
All looks correct to me and is reflected in the online account as well. If you have been on Next Flex since October (and in the Northern region) these are the VAT inc rates you should have been paying.

Ha Ha, thanks. They probably could have made their bills easier to understand. But honestly I don't think half the advisors understand the EPG these days anyway. Had my own little problem with Eon Next myself recently.

That’s everyone. Now to see why my bill went up so much with the same/less usage as previous months. 🙃0

I give meter readings every month which covers 30 days. However in February I was late so covered 37 days. I’m hoping the increase is just the extra days 🤞This is the question Eon could not answer.Robin9 said:

I was in Twitter messages for 3 days with 6 different agents. Each gave a different explanation to my increase in bill. Good luck with yours. 🙌🏼Northern_Wanderer said:BearBear71 said:

If you had a smart meter you could see for yourself how you how and when you use energy and your daily cost. CS staff do not have a crystal ball so I am not surprised that they couldn’t answer your questions.BearBear71 said:
