Hi - I’m pretty shocked at my latest electricity bill after the rise from 17p to 33p pkw. I was under the impression it wasn’t going to go up by much at all. 😩

Am I the only one with a ridiculous bill for the same or less usage as previous months?

You must have just come off a fix?

Could go up to 43-43p in 1st April just so you are aware.

If you've been on a good fix that's just ended - then welcome to the going rate.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

The EPG unit rate has been around the 33p mark for a while, since September 2022 I believe.

When did YOU get the increase from 17p ?

Were you previously on a fix ?

i feel your pain. on the 17th march we're going from 20p and 3.6p for our electric and gas to the cap (so probably around 43p and 12p after the discount if they dont change there mind soon)

going to be a shock but glad we've been protected for as long as we have and thankfully can afford it and have been keeping an eye on use sensibly to prepare/build a cusion.

if your having trouble with your new bill then worth having a look at your usage and seeing if theres any easy savings you can make without serious life style changes. might be surprised :)

It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?

No we are on Next Flex variable with Eon Next. Up to January our Elec EPG was 17pkw and from January it’s gone up to 31.84p pkw. I contacted them but they were no help and just said prices went up.

It’s the EPG rate not the actual rate I’m talking about. ☺️

Are you by any chance on Economy 7 and have seen an increase to your off-peak rate? that is the only situation in which anyone should have seen a significant rate increase so far this year - although yours would be higher than most.

If that's not the case, and you genuinely have been being charged 17p/kWh then personally I would be inclined to keep very quiet indeed about it - and hope they never notice!

How often do you get bills, would be the other question?
