  • Not a very good nights sleep but I am up, had breakfast, showered, packed, locked all windows & put all spare keys in the safe & have given my tomato plants a good soak. It’s raining here. Supposed to brighten up later.

I am going to asd@ to get cooked sausage & bacon for lunch. I have a £1 off voucher. Then we will be off to Dsis this afternoon. DF is driving so I can rest my arm/neck.

“Payday” today. I have transferred monthly money from savings to my current account £833 and also £150 ready to go into my 6% account.

Yes, it is good to remember where we started. I notice it with other posters too. There is @badmemory who remembers everything!!

A 6% saving account is excellent.

Good idea to have a safe for spare keys.

    Hope it brightened up

Trouble is I tend to remember rubbish.  My sister asked me back in March if I had had my shingles jab & I couldn't remember.  She was just a tad cross with me (she often is).  I had to ask the doctors surgery, thankfully I had it back in 2016.  I remembered talking to a doctor about it years ago & back then she recommended leaving it because then you could only have the one.
I must say I wonder how they (or I) will notice when dementia starts.  I do know my mother in her latter years used to fool a lot of people.  I know that eventually she wasn't sure who we were & you could see her brain ticking over trying to figure it out.  She wouldn't really know but knew who we must be.  Very high IQ.  I'm not sure if that is better or is it better just to not know that you don't know.  Philosophy 202!

Sorry @badmemory I didn't mean to be insensitive. I did not know your background or family history. I was trying to make the point (obviously clumsily) that when we are on here a long time our situations change, but our usernames, on the whole, do not.

You were not insensitive.  At all.  Most people I know think I have lived a very boring stuck in one place life & I tend to leave it that way.  Most people don't realise that I can't HEAR half of what they are saying & never have been able to.  That can lead to some interesting conversations.  Sometimes a sense of humour is vital.

Lunch sounded great and a bargain.

Never realised weights could be included in aqua, that seems torturous as they can be difficult enough on land, let alone having water pressure against them.

Feeling an honorary gran ma title is due and you come across as refreshed after baby cuddles.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.

Have had a lovely weekend and shortly off to aquafit. Will try to catch up with diaries later.

Dia the 6% account is a regular saver attached to my bank current account and max can pay in is £150 a month up to £5000. I am feeding it monthly from my instant access saver which holds my annual spending money.

MF the dumbbells are made of thick foam & used under water.

Will stick to title of great Auntie 🥰

Hi badmemory, I understand what you mean when you say most people think you have lived a boring stuck in one place life. I think I surprised a few people recently when I posted some of the things I have done before retiring 😆

Feel energised after aquafit. Picked up a hot cooked chicken on the way home and have had some for lunch. The sun is coming out and it’s warm & breezy. Towels are swishing & should dry on the line this afternoon.

Gas & electric meter readings have been submitted. I will see if there are any fixes worth switching to this month. Going to my friends house for a cuppa this afternoon. Tomorrow I am out for lunch with DF & niece with baby 🥰 Thursday will be doing a bit of painting and ripping up some old carpet on the landing at the top of the stairs. I am out for lunch with friend on Friday.

New phone is now set up. £130 from pot of interest from 1 year bond. Now £115 left in the pot. More interest due Feb 25 for stage 2 of house jobs which will be new fences, buying plants & shrubs for the garden, new carpets & wallpapering the spare bedroom.
