Boiler manufacturer fitters arrived before 8am yesterday & I now have a brand new quiet boiler. The fitters had been before so I didn’t feel as uncomfortable with them in the house. I read my book for 3 hours. After they had gone I went for a walk after lunch & did a bit of weeding.

I was hoping for a lie in this morning but next door had the noisiest delivery of materials for their building work at 7.45am. So that’s 3 days this week that I have been up before 8am 😆

DF is coming round later to spray the remaining weeds that are deep rooted. Weather is forecast to be nice today so I should be able to get a couple of loads of washing dried outside. I plan to get the sun parasols out of the shed so I can sit out and read if the weather is as good as they say. Aqua fit in the morning.

Glad your new boiler and it's quiet.
Meals and shopping are great, craving a full roast with Yorkie puds!

Hope you've slot in plenty of garden reading 😁

    Thanks SQS and MF 😊

Mostly cloudy today, but not cold and no wind. No sitting in the garden or washing done. Did a bit of chopping of shrubs in the garden and DF sprayed the remaining weeds.

Finished book 2 of the series of 4 that I am reading & started book 3. Walked to friends house for cuppa and chat. She had bought us both a cake. She has invited me to tea on Saturday & I will take a bottle of wine.

Current account balance £52.60. I need to put £10 petrol in the car tomorrow after aquafit and will get a few food items & fruit to last until “payday”.

Happy new boiler. Good to get it done at this time of year too.

  • Thanks dia. Hopefully this one will be ok. I still have the rest of the 10 year warranty.

I put £15 petrol in the car yesterday and bought fruit & eggs & bacon & hot roast chicken on my way home from aquafit.

Cloudy and breezy here today. Had bacon & scrambled eggs for breakfast 😋 I have swept & speed mopped my laminate floors downstairs and hung out some washing. I did a bit of weeding and have been reading my book. DF popped round with a cucumber and a lettuce from his allotment. I now have baby tomatoes appearing on my tumbling toms ☺️ I was watching a gardening programme last night which said if tom leaves turn yellow give a watered down feed daily.

It’s supposed to brighten up this afternoon. Out to dinner at my friends later. I have a bottle of rosé wine in the fridge which was a gift from someone. I don’t really drink at home so I’ve got a few bottles in my cupboard.

Well done on sorting the boiler promptly ...like the idea of a wine stash if I could only stop drinking it , I am so used to indulging in a glass  every evening ..feel a bit bad admitting to that !! Keep cool SYA it's a hot one today x
  • Thanks Arrietty and thriftylynny 😊

I have a diet cola addiction and drink at least 2 cans a day. Not good for acid reflux or teeth probably although at least there is no sugar 😉 & dentist gave me a clean bill of health 😇

Lovely afternoon on Saturday & sat in friend’s garden into the evening. Had a lovely meal & couple of glasses of wine & (no sugar) lemonade. More housework & washing done Sunday. Popped in to see DF & went to friends & had a shandy in the garden.

Very warm this morning already 24.5 degrees indoors. I am going to pop to aldee for the max cola (zero sugar) £1.65 for 6 cans, peach squash (no added sugar) & more fruit. I have just over £17 in my current account. “Payday” on Friday.

Off to my sisters with DF for the weekend as it is nephews birthday. I have already got him a card & will put some cash in from Xmas/birthday pot. I think we are going out for a meal & I will offer to pay towards it but usually DF or b-in-law pay & refuse to let me contribute. I usually pay for me & my sister if we go out for lunch to try & even things out & pay for DF when we go to ‘spoons for curry night.

I will probably stay indoors if it gets as hot as they are forecasting in next few days. 🥵 It’s lovely and cool in my living room once the sun moves round the back & will do some more reading. I have finished book 3 and am on to book 4.
