  • Thanks Arrietty, MF, thriftylynny & SQS.

I think the courgette lasagne was on Tom kerridge lose weight programme & I’ve also seen hairy bikers make lasagne with leeks. Haven’t tried that yet. I think I would put less cheese in next time.

Had a lazy day yesterday. DF popped in for a cuppa. Today has been mild again. Heating has been off all day. Got 2 loads of washing dried on the line outside. Went to aldee & spent £28.18. Meals this week are 2 x chilli & garlic belly pork with veg fried rice, chicken casserole in the slow cooker, 2 x tandoori chicken thighs and roasted veg. Plus I still have lasagne & fish stew in the freezer. I am going back on my healthier eating/ lower carb eating plan as I have been feeling bloated and sluggish. Aquafit tomorrow

the courgette lasagne sounds yummy. I think it would be good to try here as a gluten free lasagne for my coeliac boy.
    Thanks

  • I'm definitely gona give the leek lasagne a go , splitting the leeks into pasta like sheets should be easy even for me ! I also tried a cheeky chilli chicken pizza last nite at 1.39 , added a little grated cheese & tiny bit green pepper. .really yum aren't they , saw them in aldee & thought of you !!
Hope that water's warm for you today x
  • Hope he enjoys it Flowers 😊

Glad you liked the pizza thriftylynny. Aquafit was warm thankfully. Let me know how you get on with the leek lasagne.

Lovely sunny day yesterday. My wood for the flooring arrived at 8.50am despite them telling me it wouldn’t be before 9am !! Good job I was up & dressed 😂 DF arrived around 9.45 and I helped him move it to the shed. Off I went to aquafit and arrived back to two 80+ year olds sawing & fitting it 😆 DF’s neighbour had come along to help so they got it all cut between them in a day.

Forecast is rain today. Supposed to be brighter this afternoon. I am making a chicken thigh casserole in my slow cooker.

I have started to look at tyres for my car. The front ones were advisory on my  mot. I don’t spend a lot on tyres as I do less than 4000 miles a year, but I make sure I get a B rating for stopping in the wet for safety. Will have another look later on.

I have also been looking at lino for my kitchen floor & have ordered some free samples from the place where I got my bathroom lino.

It takes me ages to make any decisions 😆

Aw your DF & neighbour are just brillo!  are you happy with your new floor?

Am with you on the decision making - especially
if im Looking at stuff online.  I’ve got dropped baskets everywhere (mainly in hopes they wwil send me discount but it never seems to happen for me 😥)

I use tyreshopper online for tyres for work fleet- their budget tyres are very reasonable and last a long time - you can make appt online and specify which tyres you want (the cheapest budget ones last longest in my experience) and then get them fitted at your nearest national tyres.

edit to add: am sure you know this but your tyre code is printed on the side of the tyre

  • Thanks SQS I have the tyre size and am really struggling to get tyres. I tried the website you suggested and they only have one tyre my size which is approx £97 each. I have managed to book in next week at a ts grade B in the wet £55.99 each fitted, with half price tracking total £149.47. The mot garage couldn’t beat that & they said when I had mot that tracking would need doing.

DF is out in my shed finishing the floor 😆 Once the boarding is fitted I will need to get lino ordered.

  • That's scary prices for tyres. I'll admit to taking the lazy option of adding my tyre size and area into a search engine to see what pops up.

There's something about DF's generation of just getting on with the job at hand.

What designs / colours are you picking between with the lino? It's amazing how some items are debated and others are purchased straight off. Is it because we know it's the right one maybe.

Food sounds fantastic, especially the belly and tandoori.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.
  • Have had a call from the tyre place at 8am to say the supplier does not have any of the tyres I ordered 😕

He said they had a similar tyre for the same price but I know that is a C rating in the rain not a B. I managed not to feel flustered and asked him to let me think about it and call him back.

Looked at their website & called back & asked for a different more expensive tyre B rated extra £10 per tyre. He checked the supplier & called me back to confirm & told me I do not need to pay the extra & they should arrive Monday morning. Hopefully will all work out ok on Monday. DF is coming with me in his car & we are going for lunch while my car is being sorted.

I think there is a shortage of cheap tyres as even just doing an internet search like you MF there was practically none coming up. Either that or all the prices have shot up.

Maybe stick with your supplier SQS if they are more reliable.
