  • Good job on the tyres & for remaining calm..I really hate anything needing doing on car repairs etc I always think ah here we go ££££ !! You'll feel a lot happier once it's done , then back on to the lino decisions , I can never make my mind up either even on freebie sites & wen I do it's been taken !!

  • Thanks thriftylynny & SQS

My lino samples arrived today. One is black with sparkles £24.99 m2. One is black tile £16.99 “luxury” and the other cream/grey with black “flower” type pattern 19.99 m2.

I am leaning toward the black tile but will visit the showroom nearer the time & see if they have a bigger sample / other choice. My kitchen is cream & black.

Have been to my friends house for a cuppa & chat. Chicken casserole for tea. It’s meant to turn cold again for the next few days ( -1 tonight). Hope aquafit is warm tomorrow!

  • Sunny morning ☀️ but cold & frosty

Feeling a bit overwhelmed today. With floor still ongoing the kitchen is a work in progress with no washing machine which has been moved with my fridge into the dining room. Thankfully I still have my tabletop dishwasher working!

    -Dishwasher is on
-Aquafit later, I have had porridge for breakfast & will have a banana before I go to see if it helps stop me feeling so cold
-I need to collect meds on way to aqua
    - I will pick up a hot roast chicken afterwards. £136.84 left in my current account but I am hoping to put £100 into my holiday fund.
-niece coming today with baby & dog. I am looking after the dog at the beginning of March while they are away so he is coming for a sniff around 😆 I have met him multiple times & he’s a lovely dog but he hasn’t been to my house before.
    -Tyres being fitted Monday 🤞
-Wood being put down on Tuesday and I will not be able to walk on it until Wednesday. I will move my kettle and microwave into the dining area onto my table & fill another bottle with water for cuppas.
-I think we are then going to paint the kitchen ceiling before new lino is fitted
-I need to choose & order new lino
-Also need to phone my gas engineer to service my boiler
-Trying to arrange a visit down south during March
    -Medical appointments made
-More meds to collect next week

I will need to do some washing & will be taking it round to DF’s tomorrow as he said I can use his machine.

Hoping to chill a bit over the weekend 🤪🤯😊

  • ✅ -Dishwasher is on emptied
✅-Aquafit later, I have had porridge for breakfast & will have a banana before I go to see if it helps stop me feeling so cold didn’t make any difference, was still 🥶
✅-I need to collect meds on way to aqua
✅I will pick up a hot roast chicken afterwards. £136.84 left in my current account but I am hoping to put £100 into my holiday fund. spent £14.67 on hot chicken, eggs, onions, liver, cheese. Will cook liver and onions tomorrow
-niece coming today with baby & dog….
unfortunately baby a bit under the weather after jabs yesterday so this has been put off until Wednesday
DF popped in this afternoon to paint hairline cracks in my kitchen ceiling with crack free paint. I am taking my washing up to his house in the morning. Then my friend is coming round to mine for a cuppa in the afternoon.

Have had a nice chat with my no-dogs friend down south tonight. Still trying to agree a date with DS & gf for visiting in March.

  • Glad the tyre co are matching the price of your original choice. They must have gone up, eak.

Is the luxury thicker than the others for more foot warmth and comfort?

Make a hot choc and put it in yours flask for straight after aqua, sip away. Perhaps even wrap your hot bot in your towel without it's cover. Pop it on the floor with your feet on it while get changed.

You've a lot going on and I'm not surprised you're overwhelmed. Would it help staying at DF's for a couple of days while the floor is put down.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.
  • Thanks MF the floor is being boarded on Tuesday while I am at aquafit. Should only be one night I can’t walk on it and I will have access to my fridge & kettle and microwave so should be ok. The luxury lino is thicker but has a ripple effect so not sure about it. I am going to the showroom next week.

    Lovely sunny day yesterday ☀️

Went to DF’s for a cuppa & did a load of washing. Chatted to my neighbours whilst hanging it out back home & they have offered me their metal shed (less than 6mth old) for free & we can take down a couple of fence panels & lift it over. 😁 Will replace my rotten wooden shed which also needs a new roof & hopefully no ongoing maintenance.

Popped to asd@ for stew meat & bread. £4.55. Also put £10 petrol in the car. Walked down the village to my friends house in the afternoon for a cuppa. Managed to resist a cake. 😇

£107.62 remaining in current account. “Payday” on Thursday. Should be able to add the £100 remaining to holiday fund & £100 from next month budget as no council tax, so will be £300 for several visits to see DS down south.

Liver and onions for tea last night with swede & carrot mash & green beans, broccoli and cauli. 1 portion of liver and onions left now in the freezer. Stew in the slow cooker today 😋
