  • Hope you're beginning to feel better, the severe weather change wouldn't have helped. We're having similar temps up here 🥶

Bargain lamb find and your meals are hearty and perfect for winter.

My insurance cost an £100 ish, which was a shock after having it so cheap for years.

Have a look at other providers you bank with in case they've some useful fixed bonds.

Thanks MF have struggled to get warm all day and even though heating has been on I’ve got back into bed a few times. I’m just starting to feel a bit more human now, typical when I’m just going back to bed 😆 Have just been reading and relaxing.

Car insurance renewal should arrive by post this week. Hopefully my brain will be able to focus and I will do some price comparisons.

Not sure if I will go to aquafit on Tuesday but should be able to make it by Friday 🤞 Due out for a curry on Thursday with DF and family friends then I’m off to see my sister on the east coast for the weekend.

(I believe the forecast has some snow in it 😳 )

  • Is there a Pr1mark nearby? TomBo got me a fantastic fluffy hoodie / slip on dressing gown which is so warm. Might be worth getting one for at home as it's not restrictive.

Another week or so and you'll be back on your feet.

Wrap up and embrace the inner child, build a snowman with the fresh snow, feel it crunching under foot while walking and you'll smile for months!

    Enjoy the curry.

Hey SYA - how are you feeling? Dunno if it’s been the same with you but every-time we start to feel a bit better we end up worse than ever! Had to give in and take off work this week.

Am sure I’ve bruised every rib I’ve got thru the coughing!

Hope you are all better now anyway - no one likes the cold weather I know but it’s just the thing for killing some of these germs off!

  • Thanks MF & SQS

Sorry to hear you are so poorly SQS, hope you feel better soon x

My cold has gone but the virus has gone to my thyroid. I only have half left and it is very swollen. I am feeling miserable and sore and unwell and sorry for myself. 😔 Thankfully I didn’t have a cough. I will have to see my gp if I still feel unwell by the end of next week for a blood test.

I made myself go to aquafit yesterday and felt better after some fresh air & exercise but crashed in the afternoon. DF has stayed clear for 2 weeks but has had to come to mine to take part of the kitchen apart to sort out a drain problem, plus fill a big hole in the floor (left by previous owners!) with cement. I am staying at DF’s while the cement dries & as I can’t use the toilet at mine. At least I should no longer be contagious.

I am still planning on going to my sisters at the weekend & DF says it should be all dried, sealed and kitchen back to normal when I get back. Bless him it would have probably cost me a fortune to get someone in to fix it.

Hey SYA - finances all looking good.

was gutted as wrote a biggish message yday about how amazing your DF is -which my clumsy fingers managed to delete. Was gonna re write it but fell asleep instead. 😷

feels like I’ve turned a corner today - still coughing but it’s not as bad, no fever. And OH just text me to say he is starting with it now. Poor bugga. The gift that keeps on giving eh?

Glad you are starting to feel better SQS but sorry to hear your OH now has it too. Is he a battle on through type or a man-flu take to his bed type 😆 This is the worst I have been in a long time but thankfully I haven’t had covid

Thank you for your kind comments about DF. He is a superstar 🤩

Curry last night was excellent and lovely company so cheered me up no end 😊 Friends paid and refused to let me contribute. Very icy on drive back but no snow so far. Have cancelled aquafit so I can stay in bed until the sun gets out and defrosts the car 😆 I am staying warm and resting until mid morning then I will drive to my sisters

I phoned the car insurance company yesterday afternoon and they sorted my online account access. Car insurance renewal has gone up from £160 to £270. I will do some quotes next week when I get back home.

    Have a good weekend x

Good to hear you are better and weekend plans are on 🥰.  Agree with you that it was a doozy - I too tested negative for Covid but that was no normal cold! Still can’t taste anything apart from vague suggestions of salty/sweet.

OH is a ‘I’ve got flu so why aren’t you ringing the ambo type of person’ 🤣 bless him

my car insurance renewal was exactly the same
amount as yours SYA - last years and this years renewal quote! 😳 - shopped around and managed to get same level cover for just under £200 elsewhere.  Blumin inflation eh.

    have a fab weekend enjoy!
