Escape to the country & living off savings

Had a good day with my friend yesterday. It turned out that the hospital appointment was just for an assessment and they will now put her on the waiting list 🙄 So we went to a local retail park for some lunch (my friends turn to pay) & shopping therapy.
I had paid myself from savings £833 and had £22.61 left over in my account, so I bought some small microwave containers pack of 4 £1.50 plus a 4.5 tog king size duvet for the spare room £13 and a pack of 24 pegs for the washing line outside £1.50 and a double bed sheet for me £6, total spend £22, just a coincidence it was under the £22.61 leftover from February 😉 I’m not that good!
Then I decided to treat myself and bought a lovely silk top in matt Alan for £28. 😊 This will come from the household pot. I am thinking about separating the clothes budget. The blouse is blues and creams and will look smart or smart casual depending on what trousers/ jeans I wear with it. I also want to get a pair of cream & a pair of blue capri style cut offs but they didn’t have any in store and the ones I like online are £25 😳 so I will wait a few more weeks for stores to get more summer stock in then shop around. I could do with a few more tshirt tops too.
I collected the bras I had ordered online but when I got them home and opened the package they are not the same ones pictured online which is really annoying as they are flimsy & cheap looking. I have to take them back to store or pay to post them to the testing centre and hope they refund the cost. Edit - They told me to wait for a call back from a call centre complaint manager. Here we go again!
Nothing planned until food shopping on Monday. Tuesday will be aquafit, lunch at home, doctors then my friends for a cuppa in the afternoon. May do a tip run later today to break up the weekend. Missing dad so much and trying not to think/ stress about the house sale.

Hugs for the Dad shaped gap x
I would imagine you are missing his annual plans for gardening and allotmenting amongst many other things ….That top sounds lovely and you got a lot for your £22. Nothing like a new set of clothes pegs to deliver a quality of life boost, completely beyond their cost 😊

Thanks KK ❤️ all dads allotment produce is used up now 😢 but I was talking to my neighbour the other day saying I don’t have the brain space or energy to think about growing tumbling toms this year. She’s so lovely she said she will check if she has any seeds & grow me some & she has some spare courgette plants I can have. She also has an allotment & they run the length of our street at the back of our houses. It’s lovely to look out over them from my bedroom window, nice memories although I can’t see the one that was dads as it’s behind some trees, although I think that’s probably a good thing.

Lucky new buyers of your dad's house. They will be getting lovely neighbours too.
Is your leg ok now?
I simply copy you with energy! You are my influencer 😂 So…I will be looking at the BG lighter use tariff and switching too…off to read the email.

Postie brought the cheque for dads tax refund today so I’ve paid it into the executor account on my banking app 🤗 At least I don’t have to go into town to pay it in.
Very lazy day today. Have had a walk up to dads to check if he had any post but nothing there & emptied his dehumidifiers while I was there.

Sya, sending strong arm vibes💪 to deal with another complaints manager. It's beyond me why, these days firms would rather employ a complaints manager than deliver a satisfactory service! That's all we want! Good enough! But, no, they can't be bothered with simple stuff like doing the basics you know, like you pay them and they provide the stuff they advertise ! Good luck. What they don't know is, this is not your first rodeo 😆
