Escape to the country & living off savings

Thanks Tresinia and dia 😊
Went to aldee this morning spent £30.47 on food, box tissues and washing up liquid. My car is intermittently struggling to start ☹️ It started fine in the sunshine this morning. I came out of aldee with my shopping in the rain and it didn’t start. Turned key again and it did eventually start. Got home, parked up & emptied the car. Tried again and the car started first time. I am going to go to my garage next week and get them to check the battery.
Had a call from BG about my complaint but no further forward. They are going to make enquiries and call me back. 🫤
Solicitor in the morning.

Solicitor visit has been completed with multiple documents for the sale of dad’s house. I am glad that is over. She said we can do the rest by post so no need to go in again.
Have had a lovely visit from my sister and our niece & little lad 🥰 Had a nice lunch out paid for us all from non council tax money (as sister paid petrol to come over and never lets me pay at hers) and kids eat free in half term at the pub we went to. So 3 adults & 3 drinks £42. My sister treated me to lunch at spoons yesterday and we had a mooch round the retail park.
Aquafit was booked for today but I’ve had an email saying it’s cancelled. Will see if I can rebook for Tuesday. I’m going to my friends for cuppa and cake this afternoon so I need to pop to asd@ for cakes 😁 (I was going to call in after aqua) I might still get a cooked chicken or maybe some chicken wings to spice up in the air fryer.
It’s payday next Friday and I have meals in the freezer to eat next week. I still have corned beef and a cheap beef brisket joint in the freezer (last of the £2.50 ones I mentioned before that my niece got me) which I will cook in the slow cooker. There is half a swede plus a few carrots & parsnips left over in my fridge. I wonder if I can chop them up and roast in the air fryer? I have bread, a tin of mackerel in tomato sauce, a couple of tins of soup, tin of tuna, cheese, tomatoes, cucumber and plenty of pears and apples & tin of pineapple. So my shopping list will be fairly short
Milk, eggs, chicken (whole or wings)

Thanks Suze 😘 just hoping the sale still goes through when he reads what’s on the form 😉 Not heard anything about his surveys yet. The solicitor didn’t seem too concerned 🤞
Just waiting for my complaint with the pension company to be resolved so they send the correct details to HMRC and then HMRC can issue the tax refund. 🙄
Time to chill no plans for the weekend

Thanks dia. I was hoping for a chilled day but this morning we got an email from the solicitor about the deeds so had to sort that out.
Then got a call from British Gas about my complaint (that they refused my transfer to the MSE Collective tariff) and they were next to useless & then put me on hold, then I got cut off 😡
Had lunch. Went to my friends for a cuppa & chat. Then got an email from the pension company not answering my complaint. However I chanced calling HMRC bereavement line and managed to get someone experienced who could see the payroll figures and manually update the system & we should now get the correct refund. 🥳
Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to relax and chill. 😌

I hate the, put on hold and then cut you off schtick. So frustrating!
I remember the whole house selling and really stressful dealing with the associated paperwork.
Glad you are getting the refund! Now have a chill!

Sya, so annoying, the way these wretched companies can worm their way into your day and spoil your plans! Hope you have a better day today x

Thanks dia, Suze & Tresinia 😘
Sunny & breezy morning yesterday so I washed & hung out spare room bedding. Had a chat with my lovely neighbours (the ones who put my fence up when dad was so poorly) and really felt much lighter all day. Had a snooze in the afternoon, rain returned, I watched some tv and read a book I picked up from the phone box library last week. Slept much better last night. 😴
It’s bright and sunny this morning ☀️so more washing to hang out. I am going to follow your example dia and force myself out for a walk. Need to pop into dads & empty the dehumidifiers too. I lifted the beef out of the freezer yesterday & it’s in the slow cooker so that will late lunch.
A little food shop at Aldee on Monday, have booked aquafit for Tuesday morning and then I’m going out for lunch with my friend. 😊
