Thank you SYA - it was a difficult time although I was lucky to have friends who stepped up for us installing cctv and other security measures following the home invasion.Skint_yet_Again said:Suze I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your home and loss of your feelings of its security and safety. It must have been a very difficult time for you and I am glad you have found solace in your new home. I am a firm believer in the sentiment ‘home is where the heart is’ and I am torn between my little house that has so much of dad in every room, or selling up & buying the family home. Part of me wants to buy it to avoid what is coming. 💔
Despite all those efforts and the kindness of decades trusted neighbours bringing flowers and shoulders to lean on, we decided to move after 3 months of no sleep for me. Every creak, fridge starting up, outside rain/wind - I just couldn’t sleep. We decided to sell up and fell lucky with instant offer/sale and were in new home within 3 months soup to nuts.New home was in tiny village and the first night we both commented on how quiet it was and all we could hear was an owl hooting and that made us laugh. And no sleep issues ever since 7 years of unbroken peaceful sleep. (Not
tempting fate! 🤣)
So how are you feeling SYA- you are grieving and all the sadmin you have been doing for DF. Do you think you might move backdown south?Could your DS put you up for a trial move? Tell
me to stick my beak back out but I know you feel the distance since your move and especially
since uour lovely DF passed. It’s only natural to want connection with family. If I can only suggest pls feel free to ignore - pls tell DS how you feel. Not to be sexist or generalise anything but blokes can be a bit blind to emotion etc.
im thinking of you at this time SYA x really big hugsLancashire

Suze your new place sounds lovely ☺️ To be honest I don’t know how I am feeling 😵💫🤯😞
I am very near my niece here & my oldest friend & 2 hours from my sister. A lot of my friends down south have moved out of the area and my closest friend from there is currently working in the Channel Islands. Last time I went to visit I was surprised how run down the area had become and was ready to leave. Things there have changed since I moved away 3 years ago (where did that time go!!!)
Aquafit was cold as usual but the changing rooms were warm when I got out even though half the ceiling is still down 🙄 Called off and bought cake on the way home & got chippy lunch of chicken curry and chips for lunch.
Have been to my friends for cuppa and chat & took half the lemon drizzle cake with me which we shared 😋 My friend is having a lot of family issues at the moment so we support one another.
Partly sunny/windy day so a load of washing hung out before aquafit has dried out on the line & towel plus swimsuit washed and hung out when I got back now finishing on airers with dehumidifier on.❤️Mum 2018

We bought a relatives house. It may not be the same for you, but if there are others who are emotionally invested in the house (even if not living there), then in my experience it can be hard for them to accept changes you might want to make which can cause a bit of frustration and awkwardness sometimes."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Thanks jwil. Lots to think about. I need to work out if I can afford it. It would mean paying my 2 sisters their share and it would need money spent on it. I am not sure if I could cope with tradesmen on my own. However I now know a lovely roofer and a plumber/gas safe boiler man who also told me last time he came to put in the extra radiator that he knew dad helped me a lot and if I ever needed anything he knew lots of trades. 🤔
Was glad to get up and go out with my friend today. Did some sadmin in town then we went to primarni and b marshe. I bought a jumper £16 from annual bills pot. Then we came back to the village pub for lunch. I had carvery & friend had lasagne & chips & garlic bread plus 2 drinks £30. I used £15 of entertainment pot and £15 from birthday pot (her gift from me) £10 petrol in the car to last until payday, £48 left in my current account & aldee for shopping tomorrow.❤️Mum 2018
