Glad you had a nice time with Niece and little one."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1

Sya, it's such a soul sucking time of year, with dark nights arriving etc. I found when I lost my parents that all the associated admin kept me on some kind of artificial platform. Once the house was sold and everything sorted was only then I felt i could finally relax and breathe. It's hard x5

Thanks Suze, jwil & Tresinia ❤️
I have transferred £100 from emergency fund to cover meal out yesterday plus I am going out for brunch with my friend today and need to fill the car up with petrol for trip to my sister on Friday.Plumber coming tomorrow to fit my extra radiator. Not sure if I will go to aquafit on Friday morning before I go to my sisters. I probably should as I need the exercise and switch off my brain for a while.I bought my friend a card yesterday £1.99 and first class postage was over £3 😳 so I have transferred money from Xmas/ birthday pot. It didn’t look like a “large” letter to me but that will teach me to be more organised.
Friend suggested brunch today as I am feeling down. It is her turn to pay. I will live off stores & frozen batch cooked meals until I get back from my sisters. Pork casserole, beef stew & goose chilli in freezer. Just need to get small milk & butter today.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

Sya, let us know if the 'first class' mail service does, in fact, turn out to be first class. We get letters less than once a week now and our postie says the rm are " prioritising parcels"1

Blimey it’s cold this morning and I can’t have the heating on 🥶😩 My heating engineer said last night he should be here about 9.I phoned the probate office again to ask if the amended grant has been issued after my contact with them on Friday and they issued it while I was talking with them & I got email confirmation. Not sure why this wasn’t done on Friday. Usually I get an email once it’s done and documents arrive after 2 days. Hopefully the correct documents will arrive before I go away on Friday but I don’t hold out much hope
Today I will hibernate in my living room with 2 throws. I will put my thermals on. Weet bics with warm milk for breakfast, soup for lunch and batch cooked meal from the freezer this evening plus warm drinks. I’m not sure if he will turn the water off so I have filled a jug and a bottle. I will try to relax watching tv or reading a book0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

Sya heavy frost by us this morning so much sympathy to you! Do you have an electric heater so you could keep one room warm at least2
-
Thanks Tresinia and Suze. Trust me to choose the coldest day! I could have chosen tomorrow when it’s meant to be much warmer. No electric heater unfortunately. 12.5 degrees in my living room. 🥶 Lots of layers on plus 2 throws & warm drinks so I am keeping warm.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

New radiator now installed and the kitchen feels much warmer. Once the dust has settled tomorrow I will wipe round and mop floors. Heating engineer cleaned up after himself & all rubbish removed. Cost £260 to drain system, 1 x radiator and associated copper/flexible piping. Drill through fireplace from existing pipes at one side to other and attach radiator & fix to wall. Refill & add chemicals & bleed / balance system. Took 3 hours. Paid from diy pot.Batch cooked stew for dinner to warm up.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

That sounds like a real bargain for all the work you had done SYA - and so glad to hear it’s much warmer in kitchen which will hopefully make such a difference 🥰
edit to add - was thinking about the condensation concerns and when I checked ours today i found was on the outside of our windows when I had been presuming it was on the inside! So I guess the dehumidifier has been doing a better job than I thought!Just wanted to mention it in case your condensation was also on outside instead of inside of windows.Lancashire
