Thanks Arrietty ❤️ it’s done. Thankfully just one person so we sat and reminisced over some family photos, handed over other items requested & home again. Plumber phoned & he is coming next week tue / wed or thu. He will ring Monday and confirm. Went to my friends for cuppa & cake.

Got home & 3rd set of documents have arrived from probate office still wrong 😳😢 Got straight onto webchat and requested again corrected copies stamped & sealed & hologram. Fingers crossed 4th time lucky.

So exhausted, feet up and a bowl of stew from my slow cooker

It has been very cold also in the Midlands. Re the salt, put into wide mouthed dishes so to give maximum surface area.  The salt goes hard when it's absorbed the moisture. It holds it in but won't take any more once at capacity.  Replace.  It's cheap enough to make it worth a try on misty window ledges

Thanks Suze, SW & Tresinia 😘

TBH SW I have been stressed since dad passed away. 🥺 I just feel like I’m constantly running on high adrenaline. One frog eaten & another replaces it. Must get a grip this weekend. We will need to see a solicitor soon about next doors garden but my sister is burying her head in the sand and thinks we don’t need to say anything. There doesn’t seem to be any interest in dad’s house anyway and that’s before they know about next doors garden 😕 Feeling completely overwhelmed and want to run away

    Anyway, plans for today
    1. Pork & butternut squash casserole in slow cooker
    2. quotes for car insurance (hate this)
    3. Check dads house

I’ve put a glass bowl of salt in my condensation cupboard and left the doors ajar overnight. I will see if it helps. I put my hand on the inside of the doors yesterday and it was wet 😟 Dried off with kitchen roll & dehumidifier has been on a few times for a couple of hours. The cupboard is the worst for condensation. Just one double cupboard, stand alone unit in middle of kitchen / diner. All other cupboards are fine & dry 🤔

Have arranged to meet up with my lovely niece & little lad on Monday 🥰 Not sure what day the plumber is coming after that but my heating and possibly water will be off for the new radiator. Off to my sisters on Friday & looking forward to getting away (not nieces mum - fractured family).

I can’t remember if you ever do anything self nurturing line massage or similar? Might be worth considering to give your head a break for a bit?

Don’t worry too much about your dad’s house just yet - it’s a strange time of year for buying or selling houses and I think a lot of people are waiting on the budget and what that will bring, before deciding to commit to big financial decisions such as house buying.

The cupboard is a strange one … Do you know if any pipes; water, heating etc. run under it?

Hope you have a gentle weekend and a lovely time on Monday 😊

Thanks KK yes it’s the side of the room where the stopcock is and the pipes may run under it on their way to the kitchen sink opposite. The kitchen sink is on the outside wall with the window above but that cupboard doesn’t get wet / condensation. It’s a concrete floor and if I took the condensation cupboard out I would have to replace the kitchen lino and laminate flooring. I’m hoping the new radiator on that side of the room will help.

Have also been looking at changing my energy fix. Current fix until April 2025 but price cap is due to go up in January and April. So maybe a small increase now would be better in the long run. Job for Sunday.

Have just put the heating on it’s 13’ in my bedroom so I’ll get up once it’s warmed up a bit

Hoovered upstairs this morning and packed away my summer sandals & pumps. I have been staring blankly at car insurance since 10am apart from going to get pie and chips for lunch. Haven’t really got the money but have transferred funds from the diy / interest / emergency fund. £7. Haven’t put food in the slow cooker. That will have to be done tomorrow. Have been up to dads and checked all ok and emptied the dehumidifiers.

Think I have made a decision on which car insurance to go with. £269.86. Feel a bit better. Have saved the quote and will check again nearer the time. Struggling to find any good deals which include the cover I want even using MSE guides.

Tomorrow is looking at energy fixes 🤨 and clearing kitchen ready for plumber next week who will be drilling through the chimney breast & putting radiator in the alcove at the side.

Am going to spend the rest of the day lazing on the sofa.
