Thanks Tresinia but I believe you have to declare anything that may lead to a future potential statutory nuisance. That’s why we need to see a solicitor. It’s not just untidy.

Oh, ok, well you know your situation best.  Was there ever a formal dispute raised? What advice has the EA been able to give?

No dispute. Let’s hope you are right Tresinia. 🤞

I have 2 car insurance quotes to choose from so I will mull over those for a while. Now to decide whether to switch my energy tariff. I’m on a fix until April but the price cap is going up in January and probably again in April. By the time my fix ends prices may be much higher. I don’t want to pay an exit fee so I’m looking at staying with my current provider. There is a tariff just £5 more than mine with half price electricity on Sundays if I get a smart meter. Shall I fix now?

I really feel for you, when we put dad’s house on the market last year,  it took awhile to sell and was very disheartening. In the end we paid someone to paint all the rooms white. It made it feel a lot fresher. We then removed all the old furniture except for essentials such as a bed and a sofa etc, to make the rooms feel bigger. We also aired the house to stop it feeling stuffy once a week. 🤞it will sell soon.

    Good morning SyA,

it has been a busy week for you and having to ask for corrections for other people's mistakes is both frustrating and draining. Asking once is enough, I'm not sure how you keep your patience after 3!
A work colleague and I were discussing this recently and I declared that this year has been the absolute worst for customer service and people not doing their job.

I'm guessing that when you go to check on your DF's place, although painful, there's a sense of connection there and you'll need to find another space for that once the house sells. I'm another one who thinks that many people are holding off on financial decisions until after the budget.  It hasn't helped what with all the speculation about what may or may not happen and how it may or may not impact us  :s

I hope there's some sunshine for you today

Sya, it's always a dilemma whether to fix. I've read that the increase in January will be small.  Gas prices to be less and electric higher so depends what mix you use. Also the standing charges are due to go up again.  Suppliers want ppl to have smart meters so are doing good offers. At the end of the day i value certainty so might be inclined to fix and get the deal with the smart meter.

Hey SYA - so sorry - can hear the weariness in your words and can only imagine how tough this has all been.  Is there room in your shed for the chairs if you aren’t yet ready to part with them?

been thinking about your dads house - and totally agree with others re budget but was also wondering - could you speak to EA asking if there was anything they recommend to get things moving so to speak?
