Nice sunny day today and not as windy. Load of jumpers and jeans washed and hung out to dry. I have just finished lunch and am going for a walk round the village. Another storm due tomorrow 😳

Updated water meter bill arrived today with new amounts from £229.05 for 29 cubic meters to £252.00 for 29 cubic meters. Payment will be £21 a month from 1 Feb. Just waiting to see what council tax is going up to. I pay over 10 months & the money for the next 2 months will be put into my holiday/ visiting family pot.

  • I really like paying the council tax over 10 months rather then 12. Those two months without paying give a welcome boost to our bills joint current account.

We split our CT across 12 months - much like any work bonuses go to pensions & unexpected windfalls go to savings - you don’t miss what you aren’t used to having.

Had a lovely walk around the village yesterday. I worked out the distance on a a route finder just over 3 miles. Sun was warm and lots of birds singing 😊

Called off at DF’s for a cuppa and chat on the way home. Dry washing brought in when I got back home. DF has given me 2 cauli’s, leeks and sprouts from the allotment. I cooked the cauli in the steamer and had some for dinner with gammon and cheese sauce 😋 The rest of the cauli has been frozen. I am going to have leeks and sprouts today with goose mince and onions in gravy. Almost a free meal apart from the gravy granules 😁

I do like a nice cauli.  That is not however how I would describe the ones in the shops recently, they almost seem dehydrated.

Thanks suze 😊 DF is a star ⭐️

I agree badmemory, I can definitely tell the difference between shop bought and DF’s cauli

Today I have a swollen face 😱 I have a dr appointment later this afternoon. It’s not swollen massively but I can tell my cheeks are fuller and my eyelids are drooping. May be a side effect of new medication 🙄 I’m not letting it stop me go out to lunch with friends 😆

Yesterday I went to the local high street and bought 2 birthday cards £1.40. Birthday wrapping paper £1.10. Paid from birthday/ Xmas pot.

Thanks Suze 😊 I have to stop taking the new medication for 3 night & see if swelling goes down. If it does then I am allergic to new meds & GP will have to go back to hospital as it was their recommendation. In the meantime I have a huge bottle of gavis con. If swelling doesn’t go away I have antihistamines. Am glad my prescriptions are free!

Lunch out was lovely. Cajun chicken wrap, salad, chips (only ate half) coleslaw & diet drink plus friends baguette, chips & salad & drink total £30.80.

Remaining in current account £28.32 plus £25 cash in my purse. Pay myself on Friday. I will go food shopping tomorrow. I will need just a few items of fruit & veg, some chicken breasts & milk & nuts & loo roll. May also get some beef & make a curry in my slow cooker. I will also get petrol £10 with cash.

I’m glad your proscriptions are free too! Especially as they prescribed ones you are allergic to!!

Question for you SYA - how long did it take to get your free prescriptions?  I’ve got a life long condition now and the gp said I would have to wait 6 months.  I guess life long don’t mean life long till 6 months? 🤣
