Awww a nice surprise from your DS 😃 how lovely for you and DF.
I took am planning to hopefully leave work at 55 (ish) although I'll be having £20k/year as I'll be paying rent still. It's not necessarily going to be possible but worst case scenario I'll have to get a 16 hr/wk job to help out for a few years.
Good luck with the new meds. Do you feel like you need hrt? I am def in the starting point of menopause I reckon but I don't really want to take hrt in the future unless my body really needs it.2 -

So glad DS gave you a lift with surprise visit 🥰 - and so sorry to hear your surgery has messed with your meds!! That is frustrating 😤 hope the symptoms ease and you feel better very soon xx

Does someone who isn't a doctor have the right to prescribe, I thought not.

Thanks Lord_Mattenly (any connection to Hampshire fond memories of Baron_Dale), Time2count, jwil, Suze and badmemory ☺️
I don’t feel like I have any symptoms needing hrt at the moment but will see how things go. I think many people can prescribe now badmemory not just doctors. NHS website mentions:Prescription-only medicines, such as antibiotics, must be prescribed by a qualified health professional. This may be a GP, hospital doctor, dentist, nurse, pharmacist, optometrist, physiotherapist, podiatrist, paramedic or therapeutic radiographer.
Nurse practitioners seem to carry out many appointments at my surgery that you would have seen a doctor about in the past, but not everything as I would need to speak to a Dr about hrt.

Hi Sya, lovely news about your unexpected visitor, sounds like it really lifted your spirits to have a little family together. It's very annoying about medicine changes, I think sometimes it can be about money saving(nhs, not us lol). Although my husband has been taking a quarter aspirin every day for years as a blood thinner. The GP wants to give statins instead but he's tried them and they don't suit him. Consultant says aspirin is fine but GP is proper sniffy about it, so I think it depends who you talk to. Never taken it myself, but only heard good reports of hrt meds.

Hey sya, it's annoying the snow and having to cancel your class. My line dancing was canceled too this afternoon so I took the easy way and lit the fire and settled down in front of an old classic. The return of the Pink Panther. 1975 so is unbelievably nearly 50 years old but still gold watching clouseau send inspector drayfus insane😅 they don't make them like that any more. Hopefully the snow will be gone tomorrow and we can get out and about without slipping and sliding all over the place1

Wow it’s cold here this morning 🥶
I brushed the last of the snow off my car late afternoon yesterday as I didn’t want it to freeze again on the roof & windscreen and have to struggle to get it off today. It’s 12.5 in my bedroom this morning although I am warm and toasty in bed 😆 The heating is on so I will get up once it has warmed up. I usually manage to keep the temperature at about 18 degrees in the day when I am in which is plenty warm enough for me. I usually wear 3 layers and have a throw over my legs when I’m sat reading or watching tv.Am going out for lunch and some retail therapy later. I am going to buy Christmas cards and look for some black trousers for family party next weekend. I will need 3 books of 2nd class stamps as I will need to post about 20 cards. I will also look for a few gifts for family and friends. Xmas/ birthday pot currently £397 with another £50 due in it on 1 Dec.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗
