Have a lovely visit SYA - wish I could get my hands on some free pebbles - having said that I’ve gotten some really good stuff on Ol!o lately - and on tr@sh nothing too - one man’s treasure and all that… and it stops these things from going to landfill which is always a bonus 😊😊

  • Thanks Tresinia, Time2count and SuzeQ 😊

Had a lovely weekend. Had a day in Malton and enjoyed walking round the shops, market and hall. Yesterday we had an afternoon walk on the beach and a hot chocolate. Dinner was minced goose pie 😋 I have been sent home with 6 portions. One tonight for courgette lasagna and 5 in the freezer ☺️

Just popping to my friends for a walk and a cuppa. Sunny here ☀️

  • Sya, wow, minced 🪿 🥧, how exotic! I must try that before I run out of time 😁. I have just realised,  in my 6th decade,  that I have never been further north than Blackpool. 😬😵‍💫🫣. I've wanted to do the east coast lots of times  but my husband always mutters stuff about the weather not being up to scratch and I find myself down south or west country without fail. And guess what,  the weather is usually rubbish there too. I'm going to make a point of getting 'oop north next year,  I know how beautiful lots of it is. Can you make a recommendation for some of the best coastal locations? Glad you enjoyed your weekend

  • Thanks Tresinia and Flowers.

Not everyone likes goose as it can have a strong taste but I couldn’t tell the difference from beef mince in the lasagne and it was free. I slice the courgette and put on a plate in the microwave for 2 minutes to slightly cook / soften & there was enough for 2 layers. I made the cheese sauce with double cream and grated cheddar warmed in the microwave and the meat sauce was onions, garlic granules, yellow pepper & tin of tomato soup. It was yum  😋

Tresinia we used to go on holiday to the east coast when I was young. Have only been back to Scarborough, Whitby & Robin Hoods Bay (both steep hills) so can’t really give any recommendations. However I also went to Northumberland /Seahouses with school and had a fantastic time. Bamborough Castle, Farne Islands, Holy Island to name a few. It depends on what type of holiday you are looking for.

Have been to aquafit and the pool was warm but a cold blast in the changing rooms 🥶 Then went shopping £31.33. Meals this week
    beef stew x 4
    goose lasagne x 2
    Goose & bean & butternut squash chilli x 4
chicken, swede & carrot mash, cabbage leeks & green beans

  • Sunny but cold this morning. Washing machine is on & beef stew in the slow cooker. Will hang the washing out & see how much it will dry.

I bought a few things for xmas over the weekend. Christmas card for great nephew & will put money in & first birthday card which I will also put cash in. Mint chocolate “orange” for DF & 2025 calendar for DF for Xmas. Must remember to transfer money out of the Xmas / birthday pot & start thinking about what to buy other people. Will be going into town next month with friends for a meal and Xmas shopping.

Will have a walk this afternoon and pop into friends for cuppa and cake. 😋
