Gillylucy I am at the age where I think the term geriatric should be discontinued haha. I was shocked to find out from goggle this word describes ppl over 65 for health and social care!
Sya, yum to the chicken dinner. My husband has an allotment too and lots of root veggies coming our way atm. So when he does a chicken we have full roast then two days of bubble n squeak which is even better than the roast, as a rule.
Great interest rates on your investments. I'm looking for a new home for my isa which has been paying 5.5% for the last 18m and finishes in December but it's getting hard to find a fixed rate of around 4% now. Think rates are on their way down which is not great for those of us relying on it to top up income3 -
Skint_yet_Again said:Hba1c result is 54. Previous result 47. Target 50 or less. So a bit of work to do in next 3 months to get that down.
as regards interest rates - we were fortunate enough to get the V!rgin fixed 5.05% ISAs before the rates began to tumble. It is still possible to get 5%+ with tr@ding212 & I believe pl@m but they are online only and can completely understand when folk prefer well
known names to stash their cash.
there seems to be a lot of uncertainty re rates at the moment - am hoping for a happy compromise to keep mortgages low for people who are just trying to buy their home and savings rates worthwhile for those with savings.Lancashire

Sqs, agree about balance I have two sons who are buying their homes and they really need the rates to drop, it makes such a difference to their disposable income2

Have been round to his house and helped him swap his sim for a new deal unlimited calls and texts £4. He doesn’t use data. Also helped him fill out a form. Then I went for a walk round the village. Slipped on some leaves but thankfully the wall I fell into held me up & I have no pain.He has decided he fancies going to spoons for dinner so we are going out later.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

Try to have a soak in the bath later SYA. No pain from the slip now but tomorrow once muscles etc have settled overnight you may find some achiness - I hope not, you've had a rotten few months so could do with a break (not from falling!).
Enjoy your spoons (will continue my mild jealousy about that 😂). Pleased your DF is able to get back out doing things again.3 -
Thanks Time2count 😊 I don’t have a bath as I struggle to climb in and out of one due to my back/ neck issues. Thankfully I haven’t twisted anything and have no pain. 👍 Had a nice meal in spoons (sorry yours has gone 😉). I drove & it was DF’s turn to pay. I had steak & salad & P max. DF had peri peri lemon 1/2 chicken, chips & coleslaw and pint lemonade £22.29.Have been to aquafit this morning and the pool was lovely and warm ☺️ Called into asd@ on the way home for milk, pork chops, carrots, apples, black bean sauce on offer & Somerset pork casserole mix. £9.46. I will make the pork casserole in the slow cooker tomorrow and then together with the 2 meals left in the freezer I should have enough meals to last until Friday when we are going to my sisters for the weekend. I have booked aquafit again for Friday morning.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

Well done on a bit of physical exertion Sya, but mind you don't pull something😁Our electric bill has just come in at £120 for both, our electric stays the same year round at about £70 , it's the gas which costs pennies in the summer even though we cook with gas, but goes up a lot once the heating is on for the winter, from about October. I prefer getting billed monthly, so much better than the old quarterly bills which i used to dread. I've fixed our rate now with Octopus, so shan't look at it again now for a while. We have a surplus every year which seems to last till about February then ends and we are faced with bigger bills till the spring. Octopus reduced my dd earlier in the year as there was a surplus of about £400 but I wish they would just leave it as its budgeted for and I like the balance to be a bit on the generous side myself so I feel like I'm getting "free" heat, which of course is n nonsense🤑. Enjoy your weekend at your sisters, it's always nice to have a change of scenery.1

Sorry to jump on your thread SYA, just in response to Tresinia, with octopus you can change the d/d amount yourself. They email me every couple of months suggesting a reduction and I either accept it or choose my own reduction which is higher than what they suggested but lower than my original payment.
Have a nice weekend away SYA and pleased you enjoyed your spoons3
