Glad you had a nice and fairly MSE day at the beach"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

Some spending today. The charity local to us did another one of their book sales. The youngest two wanted to come and dh is out for the day so I had to take them anyway. This time they abandoned me on arrival and went straight to the children's section. I thought brill I can actually browse myself for a bit this time. Only for me to then go across and find two smiling kids and a big shopping bag already filled with books. Nice to see them excited over books though. I bought a handful they bought loads. We have around 30 books between us! Should keep us going for a few months till I donate them back ready for the next sale ha ha. They got that many I bought some sweets at the till to give me a sugar rush to carry them to the car 😂 the price is really affordable and I think what started as a way of getting rid of excess donations has now become a regular event for them every few months. And we had to queue to get in which hopefully means they are making some fundsJan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Dh has taken the kids out for the day. Think he's finally getting on board with sharing the load as this is a very rare thing. I'm out meeting friends for dinner. I've done a few more me things these last few months and I have to say it's been nice.
I have also used a credit card for this week's food shop-eeek. I can't get in one of my online banks since I changed my phone and with the upcoming works I felt better putting day to day costs on the card to prevent a cash flow problem. We have the food money in the bank I just don't want us to have the money in the wrong places at the wrong time of the month. Especially as I've still the school shoes to shop for 😂 I might use the card then shuffle it all round again when the windows have been fitted. At worst it will create a rinse and repeat debt for the food shop in the short term. I think Sept and Oct will need to be quiet frugal and free activities IE housework and gardening.... Going back to school is normally a culture shock so chances are it will be a bit cheaper anyways.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

That's really great that DH is helping out more. Just having even an hour to yourself must make a big difference!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0
